About the Role

We are looking for an experienced leader as Head of Product.

In this role, you are responsible for the strategic, commercial, and lifecycle direction of the that respective product area. You translate the company strategy into a strategy for your area, decide on priorities and roadmap scope, and lead product management for the area. In doing so, you weigh revenue growth, profitability, customer value, technical feasibility, operational scalability, and long-term competitiveness, based on robust business cases.

Implementation takes place together with Software Engineering, IT Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Enablement in a matrix organization.

What we offer

  • Mobile working and flexible working time
  • Collaborative, diverse company culture and superior team spirit
  • Flat hierarchies and great feedback culture
  • Development opportunities & career perspective
  • International business & cross-site collaboration
  • Modern, dog-friendly offices with nice amenities
  • Company-paid health insurance, public transportation, lunch vouchers and further benefits

What you'll do

Derive and implement a multi-year product vision, portfolio strategy, and target picture for the entire product area from the company strategy.

Own the cross-product roadmap, weigh investments between products, and sequence major initiatives with regard to Software Engineering and IT Operations capacity.

Assess market opportunities and regulatory requirements, and evaluate build, partner, or buy options for strategic capabilities.

Make final prioritization decisions, define clear prioritization rules, and reconcile competing interests of Product Management, Software Engineering, IT Operations, and Sales.

Decide which topics are included in the roadmap and reject customer-specific requirements that do not align with the strategy.

Secure competitiveness and a sustainable operating model: address changing customer and market expectations early, drive modernization, and manage risks and opportunities from regulation, security, and technology change.

Consolidate services, integrate products, and promote synergies and shared platform capabilities across products.

Drive product success holistically from both a business and technology perspective: align strategies with revenue and margin growth, keep development and operating costs in view, and make lifecycle decisions (invest, further develop, reposition, or discontinue).

Define success metrics and continuously evaluate results using data and user feedback.

Anchor security and compliance as an integral part of strategy, roadmap, and investment decisions, and make security-relevant business decisions.

Provide professional direction and line management for a team of Product Managers and Product Owners, attract and develop talent, and foster a customer-centric, data-driven product culture.

Work closely with Software Engineering, IT Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Enablement, communicate roadmap decisions transparently, and represent strategy, progress, and risks to the leadership team.

What you'll need

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, including at least 3 years leading Product Managers or cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience developing product and portfolio strategies and translating them into an actionable roadmap with business accountability.
  • Strong commercial acumen: you present business cases, budgets, and roadmaps in P&L categories.
  • Solid understanding of technical products and services, including IT services and current technologies.
  • Confident stakeholder management up to C-level.
  • Business-fluent German and English, spoken and written.
  • Nice to have
  • Experience with large enterprise customers.
  • Experience in regulated markets or with security and compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading through priorities rather than direct authority in a matrix organization.
  • Experience with partner strategies and building strategic partnerships.
  • Technical depth in platforms, APIs, and integrations to make well-founded decisions.
  • A completed technical or business-technical degree (e.g., industrial engineering, business informatics, or computer science), or an equivalent qualification.

Personality

  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinker with strong execution skills.
  • Decisive: you make clear, data-based prioritization decisions and stand behind them, including when they meet resistance.
  • Results-oriented: business value before technology.
  • Composed presence and an appreciative leadership style.
