Clay's Climate Control - Accounting Specialist

Location: NJ - Linwood

Compensation Details

$28 to $32 per hour

Acting as the finance coordinator for our Linwood location, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining and recording the books and accounts of the company and clients. This role is critical for managing the transactions and bank activities that the business is concerned with.

What You’ll Do

• Support the business with financial data entry and basic reporting tasks
• Lead accounts receivable invoicing and collections
• Reconciles customer accounts; identifies refunds, delinquent accounts, and insufficient payments
• Answers accounting inquiries through phone and email
• Verifies deposits and addresses inquiries from banks
• Ensure daily transactions from Service Titan, credit card payments, and ACH payments are properly posted and discrepancies are corrected
• Researches and corrects Service Titan batching errors
• Prepares bank deposits
• Reconciles monthly revenue between ServiceTitan and the general ledger
• Assist with reconciliation of company credit cards and bank accounts
• Processes and posts vendor bills
• Occasionally assist customers with basic billing questions in person or over the phone
• Support the finance department with additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed
• Assist with basic HR-related administrative tasks as needed, such as communicating company updates or assisting employees with general inquiries

What you’ll need to succeed

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline preferred

2 – 5 years of accounting experience preferred

Sound knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting

Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles

Proficient in accounting software, with preference for Sage Intacct

ServiceTitan experience is a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills

Ability to problem-solve required

Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
