You will guide executive, leadership, engagement, listening, activation, and change communications connected to critical priorities, including safety, quality, and patient experience.

You will bring an enterprise perspective to complex communication opportunities and challenges, strengthen communication advisory capabilities, and promote consistent and compelling messaging across Clinical Services, divisions, areas, and departments. Through strategic counsel, storytelling, and two-way communication, you will help leaders engage their teams and translate enterprise priorities into meaningful action.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement innovative communication strategies and activation plans aligned with Enterprise Clinical Services and enterprise business objectives, culture, and transformation priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders, including Enterprise CEOC members, on complex communication needs, organizational change, sensitive issues, crises, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead people, engagement, leadership activation, and change communication strategies that strengthen understanding, alignment, and adoption.
  • Translate complex business and clinical strategies into clear, concise, and compelling messages for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, leaders, and teammates.
  • Partner with People Operations and Optimization to develop and distribute multimedia content across internal channels, including the intranet, email, town halls, video, and print.
  • Collaborate with People Activation Events to develop enterprise leadership events, town halls, and other activation experiences.
  • Lead storytelling that connects acute and ambulatory care priorities, safety, quality, and patient experience to Advocate Health’s enterprise strategy and purpose.
  • Ensure communication consistency and alignment across Clinical Services, divisions, areas, departments, and broader enterprise messaging.
  • Advance listening and two-way communication strategies that strengthen feedback loops and facilitate meaningful dialogue across the organization.
  • Represent Enterprise Clinical Services through communication advisory councils and feedback mechanisms to elevate issues, share insights, and assess communication effectiveness.
  • Establish best-practice measures to evaluate communication and engagement efforts, using insights to continuously improve strategies and capabilities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing communications team while fostering strategic partnership, collaboration, business acumen, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • Ten or more years of progressive strategic communications experience, including significant experience in internal communications, organizational change, and transformation.
  • Demonstrated success advising senior executives and providing communication counsel on complex business priorities, sensitive issues, and organizational change.
  • Experience partnering across functions such as People, Legal, Operations, Marketing, and clinical leadership.
  • A proven track record of establishing and leading strategic internal communication and change programs within a large, complex organization.
  • Experience building communication capabilities that strengthen organizational alignment, engagement, and effectiveness.
  • Proven success leading, coaching, and developing high-performing communications teams.
  • Deep expertise in executive communication, leadership advisory, change communication, and transformation strategy.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex business and clinical priorities into clear, engaging stories.
  • An enterprise mindset with experience influencing and leading across highly matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional judgment, discretion, and risk management capabilities.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking, relationship management, and high-quality execution.
  • Excellent executive presence, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-influence skills.
