Welcome to Allianz
Recurring crises and a rapidly evolving threat landscape continue to challenge the operational resilience of Allianz Group. Assessing and managing these threats is central to our mission of making Allianz a safer place. The Group Protection & Resilience team is committed to ensuring that Allianz Group can withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptions to its operations.
For our team based at the headquarters in Munich, Germany, we are seeking a Protection and Resilience Governance Expert. The role focuses on governance, risk management, compliance, and control monitoring activities, working in close collaboration with P&R domain experts across the organization, the 1st and 2nd Lines of Defense, several Group functions, and OE Heads of P&R.
If you are ready to take ownership of the effective implementation and coordination of key elements of the Group's Protection & Resilience Framework, and to be part of a team that prepares Allianz globally to withstand disruptions and manage incidents and crises, we look forward to having you on our team.
What awaits you as Senior Protection and Resilience Governance Expert (m/f/d)
Through this role, you will have the main following responsibilities:
1.) Own and continuously evolve the global Group standard for Protection and Resilience (P&R) by defining, maintaining, and updating the P&R Framework, its Corporate Rules, Processes, and Controls together with Group domain experts — ensuring the standard remains fit for purpose as threats, regulatory expectations, and business needs evolve
2.) Act as the central governance authority steering the next generation of the Digital Resilience governance lifecycle, translating strategic direction into binding Group requirements and embedding regulatory compliance obligations groupwide, so that all Operating Entities (OEs) operate against one consistent, authoritative standard
3.) Direct groupwide regulatory compliance for P&R by leading the end-to-end review, updating, and Group vetting/approval process of P&R Corporate Rules, ensuring full alignment with the Digital Risk Management Framework and with applicable regulatory expectations across jurisdictions
4.) Steer OE Functional Monitoring through the design and execution of structured OE reviews and maturity assessments, evaluating threat readiness, identifying implementation gaps, and holding direct governance dialogues with OE Heads of P&R on progress against Group requirements
5.) Lead cross-functional coordination between Groupcenter and OE stakeholders, as well as 1st and 2nd Line of Defense functions, to ensure Group-wide alignment on requirements, resolve conflicting priorities, and safeguard consistent, compliant implementation across the organization
6.) Own the P&R Risk Management approach and Control Framework, working with Group domain experts to define, calibrate, and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that enable objective, data-driven governance steering and Group-wide performance transparency to senior stakeholders
7.) Govern reporting and documentation for P&R functional monitoring, ensuring outputs are audit-ready and defensible, and overseeing internal and external audit engagements — including evidence provision and Group-level tracking of remediation on audit findings through to closure
8.) Own the authoritative Group repository for P&R governance records within the Digital Resilience Archive, ensuring documentation remains complete, current, and instantly retrievable to withstand regulatory and audit scrutiny at any time
9.) Own and strategically develop the P&R Academy and the Group-wide Training & Awareness Program, shaping learning curricula, training materials, and delivery formats that build lasting P&R capability and a strong operational resilience culture across all OEs
10,) Serve as the Group's central point of contact and trusted advisor on P&R governance, awareness, and education, driving strategic communications and knowledge-sharing — including editorial planning and effectiveness monitoring — to reinforce adoption of the global standard at every organizational level
