Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring MTS Software System Design Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, electronic engineering, and mathematical analysis. Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software for enhancements and new semiconductor products.

Develop software and tools in support of electronic design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, and/or databases. Determine hardware compatibility and/or influence hardware design. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Under supervision, exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following:

Validation engineering, ML infrastructure, or HPC performance testing;

GPU platforms and their software ecosystems;

Git, Docker, and automated test frameworks;

Scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or YAML) in Linux environments;

Performing GPU testing and profiling; and

CPU or GPU architecture.
