Director of Supply Chain Management

Waxahachie, TX In person Full-time

Supply Chain | Full-Time | On-Site | Waxahachie, Texas

Americase is a Texas-based manufacturer and distributor of protective cargo cases and specialized shipping solutions, serving customers across the country and around the world. We are looking for a Director of Supply Chain Management to lead sourcing, procurement, supplier quality, logistics, and warehousing across all Americase locations and our network of outsource manufacturers.

Why Join Us?

Seat at the Table: Join the leadership team and report supply chain performance directly to the CEO.

Strong Foundation: Inherit established processes, tracking tools, and documentation, then strengthen and scale them.

Full Scope: Lead procurement, supplier quality, logistics, and warehousing across multiple sites and countries.

Growth Environment: Build the supply chain that supports rapid growth for an engineered-products manufacturer.

Position Summary

The Director of Supply Chain Management ensures raw materials, components, and finished goods move reliably and quickly from suppliers in the United States, Mexico, China, and other countries to our production floors and on to our customers. This role is accountable for a supply chain strategy that supports rapid growth, improves on-time delivery, optimizes inventory and working capital, and delivers measurable cost improvements, with a focus on material flow velocity, not only buying the right quantities.

This leader partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales. The ideal candidate is a proven supply chain leader who is process-oriented, data-driven, comfortable on the shop floor, and able to build structure and accountability in a fast-paced growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Leadership: Lead procurement, vendor management and supplier quality, logistics, and warehousing across all Americase locations as a member of the leadership team.

Integrated Strategy: Define and execute a supply chain strategy aligned to growth, operational, and financial objectives, balancing near-term stability with long-term scalability.

End-to-End Material Flow: Own material flow from purchase order through receipt, storage, issue to production, consumption, and shipment, with a focus on lead time, dwell time, and inventory turns.

Material Visibility: Maintain visibility of all material on order, in transit, received, and on hand at every Americase location and outsource manufacturer.

Planning Integration: Link sales forecasts, purchase orders, receipts, work orders, and consumption so production plans reflect actual material availability.

Weekly Supply Review: Standardize materials planning and inventory practices across sites, and lead a weekly supply review with Production, Engineering, and Sales to drive recovery before shortages hit.

Strategic Sourcing: Develop sourcing strategies for metals, purchased hardware, foam, finishing materials, packaging, and outsourced fabrication to drive cost, quality, delivery, and risk outcomes.

Supplier Management: Lead selection, negotiation, contracting, and performance management for critical suppliers and outsource manufacturers in the United States and Mexico.

Supply Resilience: Strengthen resilience through dual sourcing, nearshoring, supplier development, and continuity plans for single-source, long-lead, and tariff-exposed items.

KPIs and Reporting: Own supply chain KPIs, including on-time delivery, supplier OTD, inventory accuracy and turns, working capital, PPV, material cost productivity, and expedited freight spend, and report to the CEO and leadership team.

NPI and Capacity: Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations on new product introductions, supplier qualification, design-for-cost, production readiness, and capacity planning.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with import/export, customs, tariff, and dangerous goods regulations, and with aerospace, defense, and customer flow-down requirements.

Process and Technology: Standardize and document core processes, partner with IT on ERP data integrity, and adopt analytics and visibility tools where they add value.

Team Leadership and Organization Development

  • Leadership Team: Lead and develop the Senior Warehouse Manager, Procurement Manager, Logistics Manager, and Supplier Quality Manager, and through them the supervisors and staff at each location.
  • Organization Design: Design the supply chain organization, roles, and operating model with clear accountability and handoffs to support future scale.
  • Accountability: Set clear goals and performance measures for each function and hold the team accountable for results.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as the primary escalation point for supply disruptions that could impact production, safety, or customer delivery.
  • External Representation: Represent Americase with key suppliers, logistics partners, and customers, and at industry events.
  • Culture: Foster safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement consistent with Americase’s core values.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in supply chain, sourcing, or materials management in a manufacturing environment, including 5+ years leading managers across multiple functions and sites
  • Proven experience managing imports from Asia and working with suppliers or outsource manufacturers in Mexico, APAC, and EMEA
  • Lean or continuous improvement expertise
  • Demonstrated record of measurable improvements in on-time delivery, cost, inventory, and working capital
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past three years

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASCM/APICS (CPIM or CSCP) or ISM (CPSM) certification

Skills and Competencies

  • Supply chain strategy and execution
  • Strategic sourcing and supplier management

  • Global sourcing, import/export, customs, and cross-border material movement
  • ERP/MRP proficiency (MIE Trak, SAP, or similar)
