What the day will look like

This leadership role strengthens our client offering by driving the development and growth of Treaty and MGA Construction & Engineering business. The position oversees Inland Marine and a limited portion of LMX composite activity. This role is central to re-establishing Aon’s market presence and accelerating production across key international markets. As Aon expands its industry verticals within Risk Capital, Construction is encouraged to play a leading role. You will guide this growth, representing the firm and collaborating across the GBC and Global Network to unify and advance our vertical strategy—supporting long‑term production objectives.

Production of new C&E Treaty & MGA business. This would be our required primary objective. Aon’s C&E revenue has shrunk significantly over recent years, as has our market standing. We would be looking for you to source new opportunity in both the Treaty & MGA space and reestablish our portfolio. Working with ample resource to support your production efforts, in London. We have one broker with C&E Insurance background as well as a number of others more M&E focused that have ample bandwidth outside of 1/1.

We have a new senior NYC based broker in our team who’s working on live C&E opportunities that you could also form a potentially very fruitful partnership with on MGA’s in particular. There is also the dedicated MGA team there to help with the unique process required to stand up those new transactions.

In this position, you will support Inland Marine activity as the correspondent broker into London & Zurich for existing business, while working with US colleagues to manage client relationships and generate new opportunities. Working with the US colleagues on Inland Marine. The existing book is particularly April 1st focused, so there would be a reasonable workload at the end of Q1, but otherwise should not draw on your time too heavily

Overlap with LMX placements. At January 1st we would suggest having you on at least one large London Market LMX Composite Programme, one where there is a C&E synergy. This would be designed to give you expanded exposure and development opportunity in a new area, but also to help your integration into the broader MECC team

While Facultative business sits outside the direct remit; you will partner closely with that team to ensure MECC clients receive comprehensive support across the full range of solutions.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Demonstrable depth and breadth of Technical (re)insurance knowledge, particularly in C&E Specialty including account management experience.

Experience gained within the London Market and C&E losses, highly desirable

Well developed negotiation skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Good communication skills and comfortable managing relationships internally and externally.

Considers the underwriter’s perspective to adapt approach.

Invests time and resource in Research & Development to find new products/solutions to meet clients’ needs.

Data analysis & high-level mathematical/statistical education preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to work in an environment where deadlines must be adhered to.
