Aon Finance/FinTech

Associate Partner

London, United Kingdom In person Full-time

We're hiring!

Aon is recruiting a senior leader to lead our Endowments & Foundations clients and strategy within UK Investment. This is a market and client-facing leadership role with responsibility for setting the direction of the area, deepening our relationships with endowment, foundation and charitable clients, growing the business and ensuring consistently high-quality advice and solutions.

The Endowments & Foundations Team

Endowments, foundations and charities are long-term investors with distinctive objectives, governance arrangements and stakeholder needs. They require advice that combines strong investment thinking with an understanding of mission, spending requirements, liquidity, risk, responsible investment and effective governance.

The Endowments & Foundations Leader will bring together Aon's investment capabilities to deliver relevant, practical and forward-looking solutions for these clients, while building a clear proposition and sustainable growth strategy for the market.

Your Impact as Endowments & Foundations Leader

Own and lead the strategy, proposition and business plan for Aon's UK Endowments & Foundations area, translating market opportunities and client needs into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.

Act as a senior adviser to endowment, foundation and charitable clients, helping boards, trustees and investment committees address investment strategy, governance, portfolio construction, risk, liquidity, manager selection and implementation.

Lead, develop and deepen key client relationships, maintaining strong senior-level engagement and ensuring Aon delivers high-quality, relevant and commercially sustainable outcomes.

Drive growth through retention, expansion of existing relationships and new business development, working with sales and wider Aon colleagues to find opportunities and deliver compelling pitches and proposals.

Build Aon's profile and reputation in the Endowments & Foundations market through thought leadership, research, external engagement and a strong point of view on the issues that matter to clients.

Develop and evolve a differentiated proposition that draws on the breadth of Aon's investment capabilities, including strategic advice, delegated solutions, manager research, responsible investment and wider specialist expertise where relevant.

Maintain a strong understanding of market developments, competitor activity and the changing needs of endowments, foundations and charities, ensuring the business remains relevant and innovative.

Set high standards for the quality of advice and client delivery, providing senior oversight of significant assignments and ensuring appropriate governance, challenge and technical rigour.

Provide leadership to colleagues working on these clients, creating clarity on priorities, building capability, coaching senior and emerging talent, and supporting effective succession and workforce planning.

Collaborate across UK Investment and the wider Aon organisation, connecting expertise and solutions around client needs rather than organisational boundaries.

Take commercial ownership for the area, including revenue growth, pipeline, resourcing, investment in proposition development and overall performance against the agreed business plan in conjunction with the sales team.

Champion an inclusive, collaborative and high-performance culture, role-modelling Aon's values and leadership expectations.

Work in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework and relevant Aon policies, taking appropriate responsibility for the identification and management of risks that may affect clients, colleagues, the business or Aon's reputation.

Your Knowledge and Expertise

  • Significant experience in investment consulting, fiduciary/delegated investment, asset management or a closely related institutional investment environment, with the credibility to operate as a senior adviser and business leader.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of endowments, foundations, charities or comparable long-term institutional investors, including their governance, investment objectives, spending needs, liquidity considerations and stakeholder environment.
  • Deep investment knowledge across strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management and implementation, with the ability to translate complex investment issues into clear choices for boards and trustees.
  • A strong commercial track record, including developing senior client relationships, retaining and growing revenue, winning new business and/or building propositions in an institutional market.
  • Validated leadership capability: able to set direction, mobilise colleagues, prioritise effectively and build an engaged, accountable and high-performing team.
  • Strong external presence and communication skills, with the ability to represent Aon expertly with clients, prospects, intermediaries and the wider market.
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to balance client outcomes, commercial priorities, risk considerations and longer-term strategic opportunities.
  • A collaborative attitude and the ability to connect specialists across teams and geographies to bring the best of Aon to clients.
  • A commitment to developing colleagues and creating an inclusive environment in which different perspectives are valued.
  • Relevant professional qualifications and/or substantial equivalent experience.
