HR Coordinator | Apiam Animal Health
Full-time | South Melbourne
Be the go-to person for our people.
Apiam Animal Health is a leading Australian veterinary group, with clinics and businesses spanning companion animal, mixed, equine and production animal practice. Our purpose is to enrich the lives of animals, people and communities. As we grow, the way we support our people needs to keep pace.
As HR Coordinator, you’ll be the first point of contact for employees and managers, supporting them across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding new starters to supporting employee changes and transitions. You’ll also help us work smarter, looking after BambooHR and our HR SharePoint site and helping introduce automation and AI-assisted self-service.
The opportunity
This is a hands-on, varied HR role with room to grow. You’ll prepare employment contracts and other employee documentation, maintain accurate employee data and provide practical HR support to employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle. By identifying recurring questions and process gaps, you’ll help make HR support simpler, faster and more effective.
You’ll report to the Head of HR and work closely with our HR Business Partners, Payroll, IT and Veterinary teams. You’ll see the impact of your work through timely support, confident managers and smoother HR processes.
Your remit
- Be the first point of contact for employee and manager HR enquiries, managing the HR inbox and ticketing system and resolving or escalating queries within agreed timeframes
- Process HR transactions across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, contract variations and employee changes
- Support our payroll and compliance teams with accurate employee data, changes and documentation
- Maintain and administer BambooHR, including user access, workflows, forms and reporting, and support its integration with NetSuite
- Manage the HR SharePoint site, knowledge centre and policy library, and keep HR policies, procedures and templates current
- Identify and implement automation of routine HR processes, and develop AI-assisted query handling and self-service for managers and employees
- Support audit readiness and produce regular HR reporting
- Build your knowledge across the wider people function, supporting colleagues in areas such as talent acquisition and WHS as needed
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years’ experience in HR administration, HR coordination or HRIS administration
- Experience managing a high volume of HR enquiries or a ticketing system, with strong attention to detail and discretion
- Hands-on experience with BambooHR or a similar HRIS (BambooHR implementation experience is highly regarded but not essential)
- Knowledge of payroll compliance, awards and employment legislation, plus a willingness to get hands-on supporting our payroll and compliance teams
- A process-improvement mindset, with experience working with SharePoint or similar platforms, and curiosity about how AI-assisted tools can make HR better
- A tertiary qualification (preferred) in HR, business, information systems or a related field, or working towards one
- A genuine interest in how other parts of people operations work, and a willingness to lend a hand across the team
What’s on offer
- $80,000 to $90,000 + super
- Professional development and study support, with the chance to broaden your skills across HR, payroll, WHS, talent acquisition and related areas
- Retail, travel, health and lifestyle discounts
Why Apiam
