The people here don’t just create products — they create the kind of innovation that has transformed entire industries. It’s the diversity of our people and ideas that drives everything we do, from groundbreaking technology to industry-leading environmental initiatives. Join us, and help leave the world better than we found it.
Our group develops groundbreaking devices built on complex hardware, technology, and software. We are a collaborative, creative team, passionate about both our work and the products we create. We’re looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join our Systems EE team — someone comfortable with complex electrical system architectures and hands-on hardware bring-up, debug, and prototyping, who can help carry products through to production. If you’re ready to play a key role in designing and developing hardware for next-generation products, we’d like to hear from you.
In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and integrate hardware systems for future Apple products. The position requires the ability to perform precise, independent, detailed design work, as well as a strong grasp of high-level system architecture. Excellent communication skills are also required, along with the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
Own electrical architecture and implementation.
Lead schematic creation and layout.
Perform bring-up, debug, and hardware validation.
Build prototypes to validate proof-of-concept designs.
Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting.
Evaluate and select components through detailed data-sheet analysis.
Design schematics and layouts for highly constrained, multilayer PCBs, including HDI boards and fine-pitch BGAs.
Lead prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and electrical characterization.
Perform electrical design validation using advanced lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, BERT, and VNAs, to assess signal quality and design robustness.
Analyze factory-scale data to ensure hardware quality, optimize design parameters, and assess robustness.
Review factory test fixture designs and manufacturing test plans to ensure comprehensive hardware validation.
Debug manufacturing issues, driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions into design and process ahead of high-volume production.
Communicate and present status on concurrent priorities, open issues, and deadlines.
Travel to contract manufacturers (approximately 5 weeks/year).
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required, with 2+ years of relevant industry experience focused on hardware system design.
Strong EE fundamentals and circuit knowledge, with emphasis on DC/DC conversion, power and signal integrity, analog/digital design, along with practical, intuitive engineering judgment.
Solid hands-on experience in electrical design, including component selection, circuit design, schematic capture, and component placement.
Proficiency in standard interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, Thunderbolt, SPI, UART, HDMI and strong working knowledge of PCB/flex layout and associated CAD tools.
Hands-on experience with lab equipment — oscilloscopes, multimeters, and similar tools — for prototype bring-up, debugging, and functional validation.
Ability to stay organized, execute to a timeline, and produce high-quality deliverables.
Experience in taking designs from concept to mass production in the consumer electronics space.
Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization.
Specific deep expertise in several of the following areas is a plus: CPU, GPU, RF design.
Strong scripting skills; experience with statistical data analysis and visualization (e.g., JMP) is a plus.
