Sales and Operations Engineering is part of IS&T and drives the technology behind Apple's global operations, sales, and supply chain. The team connects the systems that move products from factory to customer — bridging sales platforms with the operational infrastructure that keeps Apple running at scale and ensuring Apple's technology and business priorities move in lockstep.
Apple’s IS&T team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to contribute to design, analysis and certification of our applications. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about quality and using lightweight processes to consistently achieve it. The role would also involve interacting with multi-functional engineering and product teams to test features, perform root cause analysis, and drive the quality of customer's experience.
Build QE test plans, strategies and cases for any given app/feature
Collaborate with Dev, BPR and other project teams to execute test plans and deliver high quality products
Automation, performance and code quality testing using tools like Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber-JVM, REST API, Appium, Postman, SOAPUI, JMeter, Jenkins, Sonarqube etc
Experience of using GenAI models for coding and other tasks
Perform functional, system, integration and exploratory testing
Self-motivated, self-driven, able to grasp issues quickly and make educated, critical judgment in the situations of ambiguity and work through the constraints
Provide project managers with timely and accurate testing status and progress during all testing phases, summarising results at project conclusion
Able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in Agile method to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
1 to 2 years of combined work experience in Software Development Engineer in Test/Quality Engineering
Experience in developing test strategies, scenarios and cases for UI(Web and Mobile apps), API/Web Services, DB workflows etc
Experience in functional, system, integration and exploratory testing
Exposure to automation, performance, software quality testing tools and CI/CD integrations
Experience working with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript.. programming languages
Exposure to GenAI solutions and AI models
Identify repetitive testing activities that can be improved through AI-assisted automation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent context switching
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers and product teams.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to solve quality engineering challenges.
