Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring passion, dedication, and a no-excuse mindset to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish. Smart people and inspiring, innovative technologies are the norm here.
Our team is responsible for validating the RF performance of top-notch, monolithic cellular transceivers. We are looking for a motivated RF engineer with strong programming skills to join our PLL validation efforts. This is a hands-on role where you will verify that our new silicon designs meet specifications, working in an agentic engineering flow where you direct AI agents across specs, code, lab setups and data, while staying accountable for the result. Join us and leverage your passion for RF excellence to enable the world's most innovative mobile devices.
As an RF PLL Silicon Validation Engineer, you will own the bring-up and characterization of frequency generation subsystems in market-leading transceivers. Your work style is collaborative and proactive, driving technical solutions across interdisciplinary teams. You will work in an agentic work flow, you scope the problem and define pass/fail criteria, delegate implementation and execution to AI agents, and verify every result against the specification.
Defining validation strategies, executing complex measurements, and analyzing performance against specifications.
Architecting efficient validation solutions through agentic engineering, articulating clear specs and acceptance criteria, delegating implementation to AI agents, and verifying results with deterministic checks and independent reviews.
Developing scalable automation frameworks and data analysis tools that are well documented and usable by both engineers and AI agents.
Reporting technical results clearly and in a cross functional team to debug hardware and software issues, ensuring the highest quality for Apple's wireless products.
Proficiency in Python programming. Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants or agents, together with the judgement to verify their output, is a major plus.
Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies) and board-level troubleshooting.
Ability to process and analyze data using libraries like NumPy, Pandas, or Matplotlib.
Solid foundation in RF and mixed-signal theory, particularly regarding PLLs, LNAs, Mixers, and oscillators.
Familiarity with RF measurement concepts such as Phase Noise, Harmonics, IP3, and Noise Figure.
Understanding of cellular standards (5G NR, LTE)
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a focus on RF/Analog circuits or Signal Processing.
