The Department
The Finance Department plays a pivotal role at the Club in supporting our long-term ambitions both on and off the pitch. Operating at the heart of a fast-paced, high-performance environment, it is the engine that keeps our Club stable and able to compete sustainably. The team provides the insight and control that underpin our decisions – from managing budgets and cash flow to overseeing player transfers and regulatory reporting.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to join our Finance Team and play a key role in supporting procurement activity across the Club. You will lead end-to-end sourcing and tender activities across a range of indirect procurement categories, from developing category strategies and analysing market opportunities through to supplier selection, commercial negotiations and contract management. You will act as a trusted procurement partner, providing expert advice and constructive challenge while ensuring procurement decisions support the Club’s wider objectives.
You will also take the lead in developing strong supplier relationships, driving performance, innovation, service improvement and value creation. Using commercial insight and data, you will identify opportunities to deliver savings, cost avoidance and wider business benefits, while proactively managing supplier, commercial and operational risks.
This role is based at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground so you will need to hold a UK driving license with access to a vehicle, so you are able to travel between Club Sites and suppliers. You will also need to be able to work flexibly as the Club requires.
For further information about the Role, please see the Role Profile.
The Person
You will need to have proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management and/or commercial management and a professional procurement qualification e.g. MCIPS or working towards MCIPS Level 5/6 or equivalent experience.
You will bring strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, using data and market insight to inform decisions and identify opportunities for improvement. Experience sourcing across indirect categories such as facilities management, professional services, technology or corporate services will be important.
You will also be proactive, collaborative and committed to delivering high-quality procurement outcomes, while handling sensitive information with discretion and supporting a positive, commercially focused procurement culture across the Club.
