About the role

The Product Owner - Downstream & Reporting exists to support the successful delivery of downstream data and reporting outcomes for CHESS Replacement Release 2, focused on Settlement. The role helps ensure stakeholder needs are translated into valuable consumer-facing outcomes that support business objectives and release delivery.

This role sits within the Securities & Payments Product team, which supports the CHESS Replacement Project across multiple initiatives. Within CHESS Release 2 (Settlement), the Downstream & Reporting stream exists to enable the effective use of project data by downstream consumers through fit‑for‑purpose data capabilities.

What you will be doing

Drive the downstream Product Owner function for Downstream & Reporting within CHESS Replacement Release 2 Settlement, ensuring delivery outcomes align with stakeholder needs and stream priorities.

Translate stakeholder requirements for reports, extracts, interfaces and other consumer-facing data outcomes into clear, prioritised backlog items, well-formed stories and acceptance criteria.

Work closely with Business Analysts, delivery teams and stakeholders to refine scope, clarify requirements and ensure work is ready for sprint planning and execution.

Actively support sprint delivery by contributing to backlog refinement, prioritisation decisions, dependency management and day-to-day product guidance for the team.

Partner with stakeholders and consumers of data to shape requirements, validate needs, resolve ambiguity and ensure delivered outcomes are fit for purpose.

Build and maintain strong product knowledge across Downstream & Reporting capabilities, stakeholder needs, delivery scope and evolving Release 2 priorities, and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.

Support the Senior Product Manager with visibility of downstream delivery progress, issues, dependencies and stakeholder feedback, contributing to effective planning and decision-making across the wider Downstream & Reporting stream

  • Strong experience working closely with business stakeholders, analysts and delivery teams to refine scope, manage ambiguity and drive outcomes.
