Build at Auger
Auger is the autonomous operating system for supply chains — the layer that finally allows disparate systems like ERP, WMS, and TMS to work together instead of against each other.
Most supply chain software surfaces problems and waits for a human to act. Auger solves them. Our AI detects disruptions, evaluates trade-offs, and executes decisions automatically — moving from signal to action in seconds, not weeks. We eliminate the Coordination Tax: the billions in capital and time lost when disconnected systems force the best people in the business to become the Human API between planning and execution.
At Auger, we design autonomy into our systems. We expect the same from our people.
That means
- Clear ownership, not decision by consensus
- First principles over inherited patterns
- Shipping systems, not slide decks
- Fast feedback from reality, not opinions
- If you want to build, ship, and iterate against reality, Auger is for you.
- Auger was founded by Dave Clark and is backed by $150M from Oak HC/FT and Eclipse Capital. Our team works from Bellevue, WA and Dallas, TX.
About the Role
Auger's software makes decisions and writes them back into the systems that run our customers' supply chains, so quality is part of the product, not a final checkpoint. As an SDET, you will own quality and test automation across the Auger platform, so our engineers can ship with confidence. We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who’s passionate about ensuring world-class reliability and performance. You’ll work alongside engineering and product teams to design and implement automated test systems, improve CI/CD processes, and uphold the highest standards of quality across our products.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression) for Auger's platform, APIs, and user interface.
- Test data-driven and AI-powered systems: validate pipeline outputs, check data quality and contracts between layers, and confirm that AI-generated recommendations and write-backs behave correctly.
- Embed quality in CI/CD so that every change is tested automatically before it reaches customers.
- Design test plans for customer deployments, including internal dogfooding, Auger testing, and joint testing with customer teams before go-live.
- Test integrations and write-backs to customer systems with attention to correctness, idempotency, error handling, and auditability.
- Diagnose, reproduce, and track issues to resolution using tools such as Jira or GitHub Issues, and find root causes, not only symptoms.
- Partner with developers in design and code reviews to make systems testable and maintainable.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to write and extend tests faster, and review and validate generated code before it ships.
- Be a quality advocate who influences how we build, deploy, and monitor software across environments.
What You Bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in QA, test automation, or software development.
Programming skill in at least one language such as Python, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
A strong understanding of software testing methods, including unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
Experience with at least one test framework, such as PyTest, JUnit, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium, from work, school, or personal projects.
A solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and how distributed systems fail.
Ability to work in person from our Bellevue headquarters, and to participate in on-call rotations.
Experience with CI/CD systems (such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), or API, performance, or security testing is a plus.
Experience testing data pipelines or AI-powered features, or knowledge of supply chain systems such as ERP, WMS, or TMS, is a plus.
