Aurora Energy Research Consulting

Flexible Energy (Senior) Associate

Oxford, United Kingdom In person Full-time

Based in Oxford, you will be a core member of Aurora’s Great Britain (GB) Research team, with a focus on batteries and flexible assets. The position suits an analyst or senior analyst with hands-on experience of the flexible energy space — for example at a BESS optimiser, trader or route-to-market provider, or at a storage developer, IPP or investor — or a strong quantitative candidate from a top-tier strategic or economic consultancy, energy company, financial services company, or knowledge-focused firm or institution with exposure to the flexible energy space.

The successful candidate will combine technical ability with a track record of dependable, independent delivery in team-oriented environments. You will take ownership of a project at a time, defining the analytical approach, identifying and solving problems as they arise, and suggesting next steps. You will manage and coach one to three junior colleagues, deliver high-quality market analysis, forecasts and insight to our subscribers and bespoke clients, and build specialist expertise in the economics of storage and flexibility — becoming a reliable voice on the subject internally and with client counterparts such as analysts, project managers and optimisers.

You will work in a dynamic, stimulating, and demanding yet supportive environment. You will apply your strong interpersonal skills to thrive in connected, cooperative project teams. Over time, and under the guidance of senior colleagues, you will grow into an industry expert at the world’s leading electricity market modelling firm.
