Project Manager - Digital Transformation

Brisbane, Australia Hybrid Contract

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. We are also about being there for our members when they may be going through some of life’s biggest challenges. As a Project Manager - Digital Transformation in this 2-year fixed term role, you'll be responsible for leading the hands-on planning, governance and agile delivery management of a significant digital transformation program. You'll work closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors and delivery specialists to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to strategic objectives.

You'll play a key role in establishing effective governance practices, managing delivery risks, coordinating technology integrations across various vendors resources and ensuring decisions are supported by meaningful insights and data. Working across multiple stakeholder groups, you'll help create a delivery environment that balances innovation, risk management, commercial considerations and outstanding member outcomes.

You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of ART Life's digital capability and support the transition from project delivery into sustainable operational and product governance.

This role is a 24-month max-term opportunity and is based in Brisbane.

Day to day, you'll

  • Establish and manage integrated delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, resources and critical delivery pathways.
  • Lead governance activities including steering forums, status reporting and funding or stage-gate approvals.
  • Manage scope, budgets, schedules, risks, issues and change controls while providing clear recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with external vendors and oversee delivery against agreed commitments and outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Data and Operations.
  • Ensure testing, implementation, operational readiness and transition activities are successfully integrated into delivery plans.
  • Present evidence-based reporting and insights to support executive decision-making and prioritisation.
  • Partner with change and adoption specialists to support engagement, readiness and successful implementation outcomes.

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You have extensive experience managing complex digital, technology or business transformation programs within regulated environments.
  • Your project management expertise spans planning, governance, financial management, risk management and executive reporting.
  • You'll bring strong experience partnering with technology vendors, integration and managing delivery against commercial commitments.
  • You're confident applying agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies to suit business needs.
  • You can effectively influence and lead cross-functional teams without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Your stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills are highly developed.
  • You'll be skilled at identifying emerging risks and providing clear, practical recommendations.
  • You're experienced in integrating change management and business readiness activities into large-scale delivery programs.
  • You hold a relevant project or program management qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Your experience within life insurance, superannuation, or financial services will be highly regarded.
