YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-What You’ll Do

The intern (Nat Cat Data & Actuarial) will help build a geographical and probabilistic view of the Group’s natural catastrophe risk, based on granular loss data processed in Databricks. The objective is to complement aggregated indicators with a more detailed reading of the risk: where it is concentrated, what drives it, and how the portfolio diversifies.

The intern will actively contribute to this effort by

  • Harmonizing geographical references and mapping the risk
  • Aligning the geographical zonings used by different catastrophe models across a set of countries.
  • Producing reference maps of exposure and risk indicators.
  • Developing tools to analyze detailed loss data
  • Designing and implementing PySpark functions to analyze large-scale loss data.
  • Enabling the aggregation of results along different dimensions (geographical zone, segment, peril).
  • Conducting in-depth analyses to identify the main risk drivers.
  • Developing accumulation and diversification indicators
  • Computing standard risk measures (VaR, TVaR) at different return periods.
  • Analyzing the contribution of segments and zones to the overall risk.
  • Identifying risk concentration areas and the most severe scenarios.
  • Making this view of risk accessible to users
  • Developing an interactive dashboard presenting the main results (maps, contributions, risk indicators).
