Role Overview

Following significant growth in our corporate tax offering, we are looking for an experienced corporate tax adviser to join our Corporate and Transactions Tax team at Manager or Senior Manager level.

Working closely with senior colleagues and supported by junior team members, you will deliver technically complex corporation tax compliance and corporate-focused advisory projects. The balance between compliance and advisory work will reflect your experience and strengths.

You may work with larger corporate and international groups, research complex technical issues, and support or lead advisory, restructuring and transaction projects. Experience in the not-for-profit sector would be welcome.

Duties/Responsibilities of the Corporate Tax Manager / Senior Manager

  • Manage corporation tax compliance work for larger corporate and international groups, including audit clients, private equity-backed structures and inbound investment groups.
  • Lead and support advisory projects depending on client needs, including corporate reorganisations, business sales, EMI and other share scheme advice, tax valuations, EIS advice and wider corporate restructuring work for both OMB and larger corporate clients.
  • Advise on cross-border tax considerations as they arise, particularly in relation to larger corporate and international groups, seeking specialist input where appropriate.
  • Identify and address wider tax considerations relevant to planning projects, including capital gains tax, international PAYE, SDLT, stamp duty and inheritance tax.
  • Liaise directly with HMRC, clients, solicitors, valuers and other third parties, as required, ensuring communications are clear, professional and appropriately documented.
  • Research complex tax legislation and HMRC guidance, and communicate technical points clearly to clients, colleagues and junior team members.
  • Manage multiple compliance and advisory projects, including agreeing priorities, monitoring deadlines, progressing actions and escalating risks or capacity issues promptly.
  • Review work prepared by junior members of the Corporate and Transactions Tax team, providing clear feedback, coaching and technical support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Corporate and Transactions Tax team through training, mentoring, knowledge sharing and support with team processes.
  • Support appropriate business development activity, including contributing to external technical marketing, preparing client-facing material and attending selected events where relevant.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing practical, commercially aware and technically robust advice.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth ambitions by sharing observations, ideas and market insight with the leadership team as appropriate.
