An exciting secondment opportunity is available for a Rostering Specialist to join our Trade People & Culture team.

Reporting to the P&C Business Partner – Trade, you will become a key subject matter expert in rostering, labour optimisation and workforce compliance across the Burson network.

Working closely with Regional and Store Managers, you'll analyse rosters and workforce data to identify opportunities to improve labour utilisation, reduce avoidable overtime and strengthen compliance. Importantly, this role isn't responsible for building store rosters or owning labour budgets. Instead, you'll provide the insights, coaching and practical guidance that help operational leaders make better workforce decisions.

This is a great development opportunity for someone with strong operational, workforce, rostering or analytical experience who wants to broaden their exposure and make an impact across the wider Burson network.

What You'll Be Doing

Analyse store rosters, labour utilisation and overtime trends across the Burson network to identify efficiencies, risks and opportunities.

Review roster exceptions and identify potential workforce compliance issues, including breaks, overtime, shift patterns and roster changes.

Partner with Regional and Store Managers to improve rostering practices while balancing customer service, team member experience and labour efficiency.

Provide practical coaching and guidance to operational leaders to build their capability and confidence in workforce planning and rostering.

Develop regular reporting and insights across overtime, labour utilisation, productivity and roster compliance.

Use workforce data to identify trends and recommend practical actions to improve performance and reduce avoidable labour costs.

Support continuous improvement of rostering processes, systems, reporting and workforce management tools.

Partner with People & Culture, Payroll, Finance and Operations to support consistent and compliant workforce management practices.

You are someone who enjoys getting behind the numbers and understanding why performance is changing, rather than simply producing a report.

You are agile, tactical and comfortable responding quickly when emerging sales or margin trends require further investigation. You are also a self-starter with strong attention to detail and the discipline to thoroughly review and validate your own work before sharing it with stakeholders.

You will bring

  • Approximately 2–3 years' experience in commercial finance, financial analysis, management accounting or a similar analytical finance role.
  • Demonstrated experience analysing top-line commercial performance, ideally across sales, margins, products, brands, customers or locations.
  • Strong reporting capability with the ability to turn complex data into practical and commercially relevant insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with VBA experience highly regarded.
  • Experience creating or enhancing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence partnering with stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Product, Marketing and Finance.
  • A self-starting, agile and commercially curious mindset with the ability to manage changing priorities.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working with Pronto, Cognos or Phocas.
  • Experience analysing inventory, product performance, pricing or margin.
  • Exposure to customer rebates or loyalty programs.
  • Experience within a product-based organisation, particularly automotive, FMCG, heavy vehicles, mining, wholesale or distribution.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
  • Why join Bapcor?
  • At Bapcor, we focus on what matters most for our customers, team members and the communities we serve. We go the extra mile to get the job done and always live our values.

In joining our team, you can access

  • Diverse career opportunities within the Bapcor Group
  • Discounts across Bapcor products and services, including our Retail and Trade brands
  • Industry leading policies to support your work/ life balance (gender neutral parental leave, purchase leave, volunteer leave etc…)
