Lead Credit Transformation Delivery at Australia's Better Big Bank

At Bendigo Bank, we are committed to being Australia's bank of choice by helping our customers and communities thrive. Behind every great customer outcome is an engine of continuous improvement, modernized lending processes, and high-performing delivery teams.

We are seeking a proactive, delivery-focused Transformation Lead – Credit Risk Initiatives to drive the implementation of our business and agribusiness lending improvement roadmap. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end operational execution of high-impact credit initiatives—taking strategic concepts and translating them into streamlined, practical workflows that deliver measurable value to frontline bankers and clients.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Product Owner / Transformation Program Lead, you will act as the operational lead responsible for the successful execution and rollout of key credit transformation initiatives. Working at the intersection of Credit Risk, Product, frontline lending specialists, and Technology squads, you will turn process improvements and policy enhancements into tangible, working solutions.

Rather than authoring prudential policy or setting enterprise architecture, your focus is transformation delivery excellence—scoping work packages, steering sprint execution, removing delivery blockers, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure new lending workflows are smoothly adopted across our Business and Agribusiness network.

Your Impact & Key Deliverables

  • Drive Initiative Delivery: Lead the day-to-day planning, backlog coordination, and execution of credit transformation initiatives, ensuring project milestones, target delivery dates, and expected operational benefits are realized.
  • Bridge Strategy and Execution: Translate credit risk enhancement concepts, policy updates, and operational objectives into clear, actionable delivery plans and user stories.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Collaborate across Credit Risk, Risk Policy, Technology squads, and frontline Business/Agribusiness bankers to build consensus and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Workflow Optimisation & Testing: Facilitate process mapping, operational user acceptance testing (UAT), and pilot rollouts of simplified credit assessment and decisioning pathways.
  • Frontline Enablement & Change Adoption: Partner with change management and regional leadership to design practical rollout collateral, training pathways, and feedback loops that ensure sustainable operational uptake.
  • Progress Tracking & Governance: Monitor implementation against agreed delivery milestones and operational metrics (e.g., turnaround times, rework reduction, workflow adoption), providing clear updates to program steering groups.

The Capabilities for Success

To thrive in this role, you bring an execution-first mindset, strong initiative leadership skills, and practical experience delivering change within commercial banking:

  • Transformation Delivery Experience: 4+ years of demonstrated success leading project delivery, workflow transformation, or implementation initiatives within Australian banking or financial services.
  • Commercial / Lending Familiarity: Solid working knowledge of business or agribusiness lending workflows, credit assessment steps, or commercial credit operations.
  • Delivery Frameworks: Proven hands-on experience utilising Agile, Lean, or hybrid delivery methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog coordination, and process mapping.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication and relationship skills, with the ability to navigate matrixed environments and build trusted partnerships with credit specialists, technical teams, and busy frontline bankers.
  • Problem-Solving & Action Orientation: Analytical and pragmatic approach to resolving operational bottlenecks, managing dependencies, and keeping delivery initiatives on schedule.

Why Bendigo Bank?

  • Tangible Operational Impact: See the direct results of your transformation work in removing friction for commercial and agribusiness bankers and their customers.
  • Purpose-Driven Culture: Work for an organization committed to "feeding into prosperity, not off it."
  • Genuine Flexibility: Hybrid and flexible working arrangements tailored to support your work-life balance.
  • Career Growth: Broad visibility across end-to-end commercial lending operations, risk frameworks, and enterprise-wide modernization efforts.
