Bishop Fleming Finance/FinTech

Corporate Tax Manager

Bristol, United Kingdom +1 In person Full-time

Location: Bristol

About this opportunity

Are you a corporate tax professional who enjoys the advisory and commercial side of tax and wants to develop your career working on transactions?

We are looking for a Transactions Tax Advisory Manager to join our growing specialist Transactions Tax team.

You don't necessarily need to have spent your whole career in a dedicated Transactions Tax team though that would be an advantage. You could also be an experienced Corporate Tax Manager who has had exposure to advisory and transaction work and would now like to specialise further.

This is an opportunity to build a genuine specialism in transactions tax, working across the full transaction lifecycle, from initial planning and structuring through to completion and post-deal implementation. You'll work with owner-managed businesses, corporate groups, management teams, investors and shareholders on a broad range of transactions, gaining exposure to diverse commercial challenges and deal structures.

You'll work alongside experienced Transactions Tax professionals and closely with colleagues across Transaction Services, Corporate Finance and our wider tax practice.

No two transactions are the same but depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:

Preparing high-quality technical advice for clients on acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, demergers and succession planning matters.

Supporting tax due diligence assignments and identifying key tax risks, opportunities and value drivers.

Advising on transaction structuring, pre-sale planning and post-transaction implementation.

Supporting complex business reorganisations, group reconstructions and shareholder transactions.

Working closely with clients, lawyers, corporate finance advisers and other stakeholders throughout the deal lifecycle.

Project managing the delivery of complex advisory assignments.

Ensuring all tax technical advice is commercially led.

Collaborating with colleagues across Tax, Transaction Services and Corporate Finance to deliver integrated client solutions.

Coaching and developing junior members of the team and reviewing their work.

Supporting the continued growth and development of Bishop Fleming's Transactions Tax proposition.

You'll increasingly take ownership of projects, managing the day-to-day delivery of assignments and acting as a key contact for clients, lawyers, corporate finance advisers and other stakeholders.

What we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you'll bring

ACA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.

Experience of transactions tax, corporate tax advisory, restructuring or other relevant project-based tax work.

Excellent analytical skills and the ability to get to grips quickly with complex issues.

Strong written skills and the ability to turn technical analysis into clear, concise and commercially useful advice.

Confidence communicating with clients and other professional advisers.

Good project management skills and the ability to manage several assignments and competing deadlines.

Ability to identify when specialist input is needed and coordinate effectively with other tax and advisory teams.

Collaborative approach, including an interest in coaching and developing more junior members of the team.
