About this role

Your team

Technology and Operations (T&O) supports BlackRock’s worldwide operations across asset classes and geographies. Its operational functions align with clients, products, fund structures, and third-party provider networks and support services across the product and trade lifecycle, as well as the client and employee experience.

Enterprise Solutions (ES), within T&O, brings together operational, technology, workplace, governance, and risk capabilities to support the firm’s long-term strategy. T&O Risk and Control operates within the first line of defense and oversees the T&O operational risk management framework, working across the operating platform to promote consistent global risk management practices.

Your role and impact

As an Associate supporting T&O Risk and Control, you will help advance the global risk framework and business management activities for Enterprise Solutions. You will work with technology and business stakeholders to support the ES risk agenda, including risk assessment and mitigation, governance, reporting, audit engagement, and related risk management activities.

You will also support project management, implementation, and coordination of risk initiatives while helping maintain alignment with regional counterparts across second- and third-line functions. This role offers an opportunity to build broad exposure across Enterprise Solutions while contributing to effective identification, assessment, management, and communication of operational and technology risks.

Your responsibilities

In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

Engage with leadership across Enterprise Solutions to support risk identification, assessment, and mitigation initiatives spanning technology and business processes.

Support regional and global teams in navigating operational and technology risk requirements, Internal Audit engagements, Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), and regulatory expectations.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of risk reporting, analytics, and management information to increase transparency into key risks and emerging issues.

Participate in risk governance forums to gain insight into new products, business processes, and strategic initiatives and proactively identify potential risks and control considerations.

Partner with risk, compliance, audit, and business stakeholders to promote alignment on firmwide operational risk priorities and foster a strong risk-aware culture.

Your experience

Demonstrated experience in risk management, internal audit, or a related discipline, with strong knowledge of risk management principles, internal control frameworks, regulatory expectations, and relevant governance, risk, and cybersecurity frameworks, including ISO 27001, NIST, and COBIT.

Proactive and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities, execute against deadlines, and maintain a strategic perspective in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational, project management, and change management capabilities, with demonstrated ability to drive execution and deliver results against deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience analyzing large data sets, translating findings into actionable insights, and using reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI, Archer, or ServiceNow.

Ability to build effective relationships and communicate complex concepts clearly across diverse stakeholder groups and organizational levels in a highly matrixed environment.

Intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with demonstrated ability to challenge existing processes and identify practical opportunities for enhancement.
