Blue Care Healthcare/BioTech

Senior Finance Systems Analyst

Brisbane, Australia Hybrid Full-time

Location: Brisbane

Make a meaningful difference with us

At UnitingCare, we are looking for a hands-on, systems-focused Senior Functional Analyst to take ownership of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform behind our group budgeting, consolidation and reporting. This is a technical, systems-heavy role at its core. You will be the go-to expert who administers, maintains and improves the platform day to day, and you will pair that deep systems capability with a solid working knowledge of finance so you genuinely understand the numbers and processes moving through it.

We currently run Prophix, so Prophix experience is a bonus, but we are just as interested in people who have hands-on ownership of a comparable platform such as Workday Adaptive Planning, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Oracle EPM, SAP or Anaplan.

This is not a pure finance role, and it is not a generic IT role. It sits in between: a technical systems specialist who understands finance well enough to be trusted with the numbers. To do it well you will need real depth on the systems side, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with finance stakeholders at every level. You will configure and maintain models, security, workflows and integrations, safeguard data integrity, and keep budgeting, consolidation and reporting accurate and on time, all while juggling competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Please note, this position is Full Time, Fixed Term (12 months). Flexibility is important to us, and we know it is to you too, so this role supports hybrid working by agreement.

Your part in our UnitingCare team

Own and support our EPM platform (currently Prophix), making sure group consolidation and financial reporting outputs are accurate and on time

Act as the subject matter expert for EPM system maintenance, driving continuous improvement across models, security, workflows, reporting and system capability

Partner with finance stakeholders from junior to senior to understand requirements, solve complex problems and deliver practical, value-driven solutions

Analyse and reconcile financial data, protecting integrity, accuracy and strong system controls across non-ERP applications

Lead enhancements to financial processes, including budgeting, intercompany allocations and detailed reporting structures across the business

Work with technical teams to manage integrations across systems such as Dynamics 365, SAP and SQL, so data flows cleanly end to end

Provide guidance, training and support to end users, helping them get the most out of the platform

Develop and maintain clear documentation for system configurations, reporting logic, business rules and user guidance

Build strong relationships and challenge thinking where needed to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions

What makes a difference for us?

Strong hands-on experience administering and maintaining an EPM or enterprise financial planning system, such as Prophix, Workday Adaptive Planning, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, Anaplan, OneStream or TechnologyOne, including model maintenance, security, workflows, reporting and consolidation support. This systems depth is the core of the role. Prophix itself is not essential, we value transferable platform experience

A relevant tertiary qualification in a technical or systems field, such as computer science, information systems or engineering, suited to the systems-heavy nature of this role. A finance or commerce background paired with strong systems skills is equally welcome

Solid, hands-on finance fundamentals, including accounting basics, reconciliations and budgeting, which you will be doing regularly as part of this role, along with the knowledge to understand the consolidation and reporting the system produces

Comfort working with data and integrations across connected systems such as Dynamics 365, SAP and SQL

Strong analytical capability, including advanced Excel and financial modelling, to interpret and work with complex data

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both financial and non-financial stakeholders, including senior and sometimes challenging audiences

The ability to prioritise competing demands, think critically and develop practical, fit-for-purpose solutions in a fast-changing environment

Strong documentation skills, capturing system processes, configurations, business rules and user guidance clearly

Experience implementing or rolling out an EPM platform is highly regarded

Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policy. This may include a Nationally Coordinated Police Check and the Right to Work in Australia
