We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Ph.D. program in World Models and World Action Models for behavior prediction, reactive scene forecasting and driving policy optimization in the field of autonomous driving.
What awaits you?
Conduct cutting-edge research on state-of-the-art machine learning methods, with a focus on Generative AI, world models, and End-to-End Autonomous Driving.
Design and develop novel world action model architectures for behavior prediction, reactive scene forecasting, and driving policy learning in complex traffic environments.
Investigate methods for modeling interactions between traffic participants and predicting the consequences of vehicle actions in closed-loop settings.
Evaluate and benchmark developed methods on public research datasets and large-scale proprietary BMW driving datasets.
Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers working on next-generation autonomous driving systems and decision-making frameworks.
What should you bring along?
University degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
Strong background in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Low Level Sensor Fusion, and Robotics.
Strong experience with PyTorch / TensorFlow.
Experience with modern development tools such as Docker and Git.
Fluent in written and spoken English. German language skills are a plus.
Previous publications at top tier conferences are a plus.
