Vice President, Information Technology Buyers Edge Platform · Reports to the Chief Technology Officer · Remote (US) with regular travel to our offices across the United States and Europe About Buyers Edge Platform Buyers Edge Platform is the technology and procurement platform behind more than $100 billion of foodservice purchasing for roughly 300,000 restaurant, hospitality, healthcare and institutional locations. We are founder-led, private-equity backed, profitable, and growing through both organic expansion and acquisition.
Our family of brands spans purchasing programs, supply chain software, fresh produce, business dining and restaurant back-office tools, and the technology underneath them is becoming one platform. Why this role, why now As the company scales, the shared foundation under every brand matters more: corporate IT, cloud infrastructure, reliability and security. We are formalizing that foundation into one organization with one operating model, and we are growing the security function to match the size of the business.
The Vice President of Information Technology leads that work. It is a build-and-run role: the systems are real and mostly on AWS, the team is capable, and the opportunity is to give it the standards, structure and leadership a company of this scale needs. What you will own Corporate IT and end-user computing. Help desk, device management, identity and access, collaboration and productivity platforms, SaaS administration and licensing.
Cloud infrastructure and DevOps. Our AWS estate, container platforms, infrastructure as code, observability and CI/CD, plus ongoing consolidation of cloud environments across acquired brands. Systems engineering and reliability. Platform operations, on-call and incident management, backup and recovery, capacity, and cloud cost management. Security. Lead and grow the security organization and its leadership, including vulnerability and application security programs, incident response in partnership with Finance and Legal, third-party assessments, and the compliance work our business units require.
Set the company's AI security posture: governance for how employees and engineers use AI tools, data handling and model-access controls, security review of AI agents and integrations we build and buy, and defenses against AI-enabled attacks such as deepfake and business-email-compromise fraud. Acquired-brand technology. Coordinate standards, security, tooling and vendor contracts across the brands' infrastructure today, and bring them into this organization as the company integrates.
Vendors and spend. Our cloud, productivity, security and infrastructure agreements, in partnership with Procurement. The team. A distributed group of IT, systems, DevOps and security professionals, and the managers and leaders you develop within it. What success looks like in year one The security organization is fully led and staffed, with published standards and service levels, enforced device and access policy, and a completed external assessment.
One operating model for infrastructure across the platform and the brands: shared standards, shared tooling, one on-call, one cost view. Cloud consolidation milestones delivered and our primary cloud agreement renewed on terms that fit the plan. Service levels for IT and infrastructure defined, published and met. A leadership bench in place under you. How you work You have run infrastructure, IT and security for a company of similar or larger size, through growth and acquisition.
You balance strategy and execution, and you are hands-on when it matters. You can present the company's technology and security posture to a CEO, a CFO and a board, and translate between a deeply technical team and a non-technical executive team. You lead through people: you build managers, delegate real ownership and hold a standard. You bring process to a fast-moving company without slowing it down. You use AI tools in your own work and expect your team to.
What you bring 15+ years in technology, with 7+ years leading infrastructure, IT or security organizations at the VP level or equivalent. Depth in AWS, identity and access management, enterprise security programs and modern DevOps practice. Experience building or scaling a security function, including hiring and developing its leaders. Working knowledge of AI security and governance: securing AI tooling and agents, data and model-access controls, and the evolving threat landscape.
Experience integrating acquired companies' IT and infrastructure. Ownership of large cloud and software vendor agreements and the negotiations behind them. Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Nice to have Private-equity-backed or founder-led company experience. Ownership of SOC 2, NIST CSF or a comparable program. Multi-cloud consolidation experience. Foodservice, supply chain, fintech or payments exposure.
