About the Role

Do you have a passion for leading a team, supporting the growth and development of your people, and providing financial advice within a large tertiary hospital? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

As the Senior Finance Officer/Team Leader, you will provide high-level financial leadership, coordination, and operational oversight across a broad range of finance functions. You will lead the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring workloads are effectively managed and service delivery standards are maintained. The role is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, leading the resolution of complex financial enquiries, payment issues and account discrepancies, and reviewing and authorising financial transactions and documentation within delegated authority.

You will also analyse, interpret and report on financial and administrative data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement, while supporting internal and external audits through the maintenance of accurate financial records, preparation of documentation, and implementation of recommendations to strengthen financial governance and compliance.

As Team Leader, you will provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and performance development to team members, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing team culture. You will be responsible for workforce planning, workload allocation and monitoring team priorities, while identifying risks and implementing strategies to achieve operational objectives and key performance indicators.

We are seeking a strong people leader with excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills. You will possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. With a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills, you will be proficient in financial management systems and bring experience in finance, accounts, or a transaction processing environment. Most importantly, you will be committed to supporting your team, delivering quality outcomes, and driving continuous improvement.
