We are seeking a Vice President with specialized expertise in US healthcare policy, payer markets, and private equity transaction work. This role will be based in Washington, DC or New York. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience conducting commercial and policy due diligence for private equity sponsors, combining rigorous analytical frameworks with deep knowledge of US healthcare payers, insurers, reimbursement, and regulatory dynamics to assess investment opportunities.
The Role

The role will focus primarily on payers, health insurers, managed care organizations, and related healthcare businesses.
You will work directly with private equity investors, deal teams, and senior healthcare stakeholders to evaluate how regulatory, legislative, reimbursement, and market developments affect investment opportunities, competitive positioning, and business performance.
This role requires the ability to lead complex diligence workstreams within the 2–4 week transaction timelines typical of private equity engagements, manage client relationships, and translate evolving policy developments into actionable investment theses. The Vice President will also contribute to business development, strengthen client relationships, and mentor junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, healthcare strategy consultancy, or investment advisory firm, with demonstrated private equity due diligence experience.
- Direct involvement in buy-side or sell-side healthcare commercial due diligence, ideally focused on payers, health insurers, managed care organizations, or related healthcare services.
- Strong understanding of the US healthcare system, including commercial insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, reimbursement, and payer-provider dynamics.
- Proven ability to lead rapid diligence workstreams within compressed 2–4 week deal cycles, managing multiple engagements and delivering high-quality investment recommendations.
- Strong understanding of US healthcare policy, regulatory frameworks, reimbursement models, and legislative developments, with the ability to assess their implications for healthcare businesses and investment decisions.
- Experience evaluating market dynamics, competitive positioning, growth opportunities, and regulatory risks to inform private equity investment decisions.
- Strong executive presence and client-facing skills, including experience working with private equity sponsors, deal teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex policy and market developments into clear, actionable investment insights.
- Ability to manage and mentor junior team members while maintaining high standards of analytical rigor and client delivery.
- Strong interest in the intersection of healthcare policy, politics, and private equity investing.
