PROCURE-TO-PAY BUSINESS ANALYST

Courbevoie, France Hybrid Full-time

Overview

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst – Procure-to-Pay to help drive the transformation, standardization and continuous improvement of our end-to-end P2P processes and supporting systems.

Your Mission

As part of the Finance Technology team, you will act as a business partner to Procurement, Finance and Business stakeholders, with the ability to understand the underlying business objective, challenge existing ways of working, identify opportunities for simplification and automation, and translate business needs into efficient, scalable processes and system solutions.

Your role covers the end-to-end P2P landscape, from sourcing and contract lifecycle management through purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier invoicing, expense management, approvals, accruals and payment readiness, across applications including Workday Financials, Workday Procurement, Concur and CLM.

You will work at the intersection of Business, Finance and IS, ensuring that technology enables the right business processes rather than simply reproducing existing ways of working.

We are not looking for a purely technical application specialist. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Procure-to-Pay, Procurement and Finance transformation, ERP or business applications, combined with the ability to understand and navigate a complex multi-system environment. Knowledge of Workday Procurement, Concur or CLM is a strong advantage, but a strong P2P / Finance Systems profile with experience on other ERP or enterprise platforms will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Business Partner for Procure-to-Pay
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's business model, Procurement and Finance processes and end-to-end P2P operating model.
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, Legal and Business stakeholders to understand their objectives, challenges and pain points.
  • Challenge existing processes, requirements and assumptions, rather than simply translating them into system specifications.
  • Ask the right questions to distinguish between a genuine business need, an existing practice and a historical system limitation.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate and improve processes across purchasing, supplier invoice management, expenses and contract lifecycle management.
  • Recommend pragmatic solutions that balance business value, user experience, scalability, compliance and technical constraints.
  • Help stakeholders move from a “what we do today” mindset to a “what should the target process be?”

Own P2P Process Analysis & Design

  • Map and document current-state and target-state P2P processes.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, manual activities, controls and risks.
  • Define clear process ownership, responsibilities and hand-offs between Procurement, Finance, Legal, Business teams and IS.
  • Design target processes in collaboration with Procurement, Finance and Business stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency and appropriate standardization across countries, entities and business units.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification across requisitioning, approvals, receiving, invoicing, expenses and contract management.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Finance Technology operating model and P2P roadmap.
  • Translate Business Needs into Effective Solutions
  • Lead functional analysis from business problem to solution.
  • Gather business needs, but challenge and refine them before translating them into requirements.
  • Define business rules, functional requirements, data requirements, approval rules, controls and acceptance criteria.
  • Assess alternative solutions and make recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with IS architects, application owners and integration teams to validate solution feasibility.
  • Ensure that proposed solutions address the end-to-end business process, rather than optimizing a single application in isolation.
  • Assess upstream and downstream impacts before changes are implemented, including procurement operations, accounting, supplier management, compliance and reporting.
  • Own the End-to-End P2P Systems Perspective
  • The role will cover the interaction between the key applications supporting P2P, including:
  • CLM → Workday Procurement → Concur → Workday Financials

The candidate will

  • Understand how business processes and data flow across the application landscape.
  • Identify dependencies and impacts between applications.
  • Define functional requirements for system changes and integrations.
  • Work with IS Integration teams to ensure consistent end-to-end data flows.
  • Challenge solutions that create unnecessary manual work, compliance risk or downstream accounting impacts.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate duplicate data entry and improve automation across contracts, requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and expenses.
  • Contribute to the definition of data ownership and business rules across the P2P landscape.
  • The candidate is not expected to be an expert in every application. Instead, we are looking for someone who can quickly understand new systems, connect them to the underlying business process and identify the implications of changes across the landscape.

Drive Functional Delivery

  • Act as the functional lead for P2P initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinate activities across Procurement, Finance, Legal, Business, IS and external partners.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable functional deliverables.
  • Contribute to project planning, prioritization and roadmap definition.
  • Identify risks, dependencies and decisions requiring stakeholder attention.
  • Ensure that functional decisions are properly documented and communicated.
  • Follow initiatives through from initial business problem to implementation and stabilization.

Testing, UAT & Quality Assurance

  • Define end-to-end test strategy and business scenarios.
  • Develop test cases based on target processes and business requirements.
  • Coordinate UAT with Procurement, Finance, Legal and Business key users.
  • Ensure testing covers the full P2P chain and relevant upstream/downstream systems.
  • Analyze defects and determine whether they relate to process, configuration, data, security, controls or integration.
  • Coordinate resolution with IS teams and implementation partners.
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet the intended business outcome.

Change Management & User Adoption

  • Support business stakeholders in understanding and adopting new processes.
  • Develop process documentation, functional documentation and user guides.
  • Design and deliver training sessions for end users, approvers and key users.
  • Ensure that process changes are clearly communicated across Procurement, Finance, Legal and Business teams.
  • Support users during deployment and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Promote standard processes and best practices across Procurement and Finance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor the effectiveness of P2P processes after implementation.
  • Identify recurring issues, manual workarounds and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactively propose enhancements to processes, systems and integrations.
  • Contribute to the Finance Technology continuous improvement roadmap.
  • Help establish appropriate KPIs and measures of process efficiency, compliance, spend control and quality.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, Procurement Transformation Consultant, Finance Transformation Consultant, ERP Consultant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay processes.
  • Experience working on Procurement transformation, Finance transformation, ERP or enterprise business application projects.
  • Proven experience acting as the interface between Business/Procurement/Finance and IT.
  • Strong experience in process analysis, process design and requirements management.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge business requirements and propose alternative solutions.
  • Experience working across multiple applications and understanding end-to-end data flows.
  • Experience with functional testing, UAT and business deployment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to understand complex topics quickly and translate them into pragmatic solutions.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage several initiatives simultaneously.
  • Fluent English; French is a plus.

Technology Background

Experience with Workday Procurement, Concur or CLM is a strong advantage, but is not a mandatory requirement.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have gained their experience through:

Procurement or Finance transformation programs

ERP implementations or optimization

P2P transformation initiatives

Business application projects

Procurement-to-Finance integration projects

Finance Systems / IT Business Partner roles

Functional consulting in Procurement or Finance

Experience with platforms such as Workday Procurement, Concur, CLM, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or other enterprise applications will be considered relevant.

What matters most is the ability to understand the business process first, then determine how technology should support it.
