Linux Automation Engineer

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Linux Automation Engineer to support IT program at a major national laboratory.

The successful candidate will support a wide range of mission-critical computing and engineering objectives. The requirements for these services vary in range and scope, from single-system administration and user support to highly complex, cutting-edge technologies. Specific examples of these requirements include operating system and application administration and modification, cybersecurity, scripting and code development, high-performance computing (HPC), knowledge of hardware specifications, cloud maintenance, disaster recovery support, implementation and maintenance, scripting, programming, and computational scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef. Experience in UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows Operating System (OS), including file management, scripting, editing, and security.
• Experience with a variety of programming languages, software, or tools to develop regular or ad-hoc queries from large datasets.
• Familiar with network communication protocols, and other related protocols.
• Ability to implement solutions integrating Rest application program interface (API) based web services.
• BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 1 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
• The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance and possibly could require an elevated level clearance, which may require a polygraph test
• US Citizenship required
• Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as primary work location is onsite (work from home 1 day/week).

Required Skills

Must have strong experience as a Linux System Administrator

Experience with Open Shift

Experience in Python and Bash scripting languages

Experience in Git source code management
