ServiceNow / API Engineer – Integration Architecture

NetImpact Strategies has an opportunity for a ServiceNow / API Engineer – Integration Architecture to design secure, reliable integrations among ServiceNow and authorized federal enterprise systems as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting a federal customer. The senior engineer collaborates with operational and technical partners to deliver dependable services and measurable user outcomes; this position is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain an inventory of approved interfaces, system ownership, data flows, dependencies, and authentication methods.
• Engineer integrations using approved APIs, ServiceNow Integration Hub, Flow Designer, and supported integration services.
• Implement least-privilege access, audit logging, controlled retries, exception handling, and duplicate prevention.
• Preserve authoritative source records, data lineage, and approved security boundaries.
• Define and execute interface mapping, reconciliation, rollback, and failure-recovery tests.
• Troubleshoot integration performance and data transfer exceptions with platform and application teams.
• Document architecture decisions, technical runbooks, and deployment evidence for approval.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 5+ years of enterprise systems integration or software engineering experience, including substantial REST API and ServiceNow integration work.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Integration Hub, Flow Designer, scripting, authentication, and interface troubleshooting.
• Understanding of API security, access controls, logging, error handling, and integration testing.
• Ability to document architectures and work within controlled production change processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer, or relevant implementation certification.
• Experience with HL7/FHIR or federal healthcare systems, where applicable.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with Microsoft 365, monitoring platforms, and enterprise data services.

Location Requirement

Remote (United States). Travel as required for approved program activities; frequency to be confirmed. Travel is subject to project needs and authorization.

Federal access requirements: Ability to satisfy applicable customer background screening, identity credentialing, and system-access requirements.

At NetImpact Strategies, we post salary ranges in compliance with the specific labor laws and regulations of each county and state, ensuring transparency and fairness in our hiring practices. The posted salary range for this role is $135,000-160,000. The posted salary range is not an exact indication of the actual compensation offered and is instead a range of what NetImpact, in good faith, could compensate at the lowest and most high end of the salary market.
