Overview
NSC Global is seeking a Control Systems & Automation Engineer to support site-level industrial automation and control infrastructure. This role requires 100% on-site presence to interact directly with manufacturing control cabinets, PLCs, DCS panels, SCADA systems, and process equipment on the production floor.
You will be responsible for hardware commissioning, safety interlock testing, alarm rationalization, and in-situ calibration of field instruments within regulated, access-controlled environments (including GMP manufacturing areas).
Responsibilities
- Site Infrastructure & Hardware Support: Conduct hands-on inspection, commissioning, and maintenance of physical control cabinets, DCS panels, PLCs, and field devices.
- System Programming & Configuration: Program, configure, and troubleshoot DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems across major industrial vendor platforms.
- Instrumentation & Calibration: Perform in-situ calibration and maintenance for process instrumentation measuring flow, temperature, pressure, and level.
- Functional Safety & Alarm Management: Execute safety interlock testing, implement alarm management standards, and participate in functional safety assessments.
- OT Network Maintenance: Support, configure, and maintain Operational Technology (OT) network communications across the plant environment.
- Compliance & Safety Management: Follow strict site access protocols, adhere to GMP change control procedures for safety-critical system modifications, and participate in HAZOP/PSM evaluations.
Technical Qualifications & Skills
- DCS / SCADA / PLC Platforms: Proficiency with platforms such as Siemens PCS7, Rockwell ControlLogix, ABB System 800xA, or Honeywell Experion.
- Industrial Automation Languages: Expertise in IEC 61131-3 programming standards (Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text).
- Process Instrumentation: Strong working knowledge of physical measurement and calibration for flow, temperature, pressure, and level instruments.
- Safety & Alarm Standards: Experience with Alarm Management (EEMUA 191 / ISA-18.2) and Functional Safety / Safety Integrity Levels (IEC 61511, SIL).
- OT Network Protocols: Familiarity with industrial fieldbus and Ethernet protocols, including PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, OPC-UA, and Modbus.
- Process Safety & Change Control: Understanding of HAZOP participation, Process Safety Management (PSM) fundamentals, and GMP change control protocols.
Site & Work Requirements
On-Site Physical Access: Must be able to physically inspect, test, and troubleshoot cabinets, panels, and equipment on the factory floor. Remote work is not applicable for this position.
Site Security & Badging: Ability to meet strict site security clearances and badging requirements for regulated manufacturing zones (e.g., GMP areas).
