Responsibilities
Ready to own the close and turn complex TPA data into numbers everyone can trust?
Why This Role Matters
Every decision our TPA business makes starts with financials people can trust, and you’re the one who makes that possible. As TPA Accounting Manager, you run the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for the TPA entity, making sure the books are accurate, compliant, and tightly controlled. You’ll work across internal teams and back TPA initiatives with the financial rigor they need to succeed. The reliability of our reporting and the quality of our audits both run through your work, so when you perform at your best, the whole organization can move forward with confidence.
What You'll Actually Do
Own the close: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for key areas of the TPA entity. You’ll prepare and post journal entries, complete account reconciliations and accruals, and upload data in the ERP against the close calendar, all in line with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Apply ASC 606 to TPA contracts: Identify performance obligations in TPA service contracts and evaluate variable consideration, including performance guarantees and fees at risk, so revenue is recognized correctly.
Track performance guarantee exposure: Account for related client credits and keep the business informed of potential financial impact, so no one is surprised at quarter-end.
Reconcile and audit large data sets: Tie out data across the ERP, TPA systems, and third-party reports, and catch discrepancies before they reach the financials.
Hunt down root causes: Investigate and resolve discrepancies alongside system and operations teams, then put corrective actions in place that keep the same issue from coming back.
Power compliance and licensing: Prepare TPA financials for license renewal and for regulatory and fiduciary account requirements.
Build a strong control environment: Document processes, controls, systems, and workflows so the way we work is clear, repeatable, and audit-ready.
Drive the annual audit: Prepare the gross-to-net adjustment, supply backup documentation, respond quickly, and close out open items.
Partner with Tax: Coordinate on sales/use tax, legal entity financials, and other tax inputs, so Tax has what it needs when it needs it.
Streamline and automate: Identify and lead opportunities to simplify reconciliations, cut manual effort and errors, and automate recurring work.
