A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Quantitative Imaging Scientist to join Caristo Diagnostics rapidly growing team, based at our Oxford headquarters.
About the Role
Overview
Caristo's technology depends on the accurate and reliable quantitative assessment of cardiac CT scans. This role owns the calibration capability that underpins both our current clinical services and the next generation of our AI-driven cardiovascular products.
You will join a small, highly collaborative Product Innovation team working at the interface between research, engineering, operations and clinical delivery. The role combines scientific thinking with practical execution and requires someone who can make good decisions despite incomplete information, competing priorities and changing requirements.
Success in this role is measured by keeping critical programmes moving, enabling clinical delivery, supporting product development and helping the company make pragmatic technical decisions.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, working across teams and turning ambiguity into action.
What You'll Be Doing

- Own Caristo's CT calibration capability and associated roadmap
- Deliver customer calibration requirements that support clinical service delivery
- Maintain and continuously improve calibration methodologies
- Develop next-generation approaches for future products
Product Innovation & Translation
- Support translation of new scientific ideas into deployable products
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations and Product Innovation teams to ensure successful implementation
- Help identify and resolve technical bottlenecks affecting product performance and scalability
- Contribute to validation strategies and regulatory programmes
Scientific Collaboration
- Act as a technical point of contact for Oxford University collaborators and external research partners
- Support delivery of research projects, publications and patents
- Contribute to technical documentation supporting regulatory submissions
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Coordinate activities across research, engineering and operations teams
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Help prioritise competing requests based on business impact and scientific value
- Identify when a pragmatic solution is more valuable than a perfect one

Within 12 months you will
- Be recognised as the owner of Caristo's calibration capability
- Deliver customer calibrations reliably and predictably
- Support development of next-generation products and regulatory submissions
- Unblock research, engineering and operations teams through rapid decision-making and technical leadership
- Build effective relationships across Caristo and Oxford University
- Improve the speed with which innovations can be translated into products
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who
- Makes good decisions with incomplete information
- Understands that a useful answer today can be more valuable than a perfect answer next month
- Thrives in a highly collaborative environment
- Balances scientific rigour with practical delivery
- Shares ideas early and iterates based on feedback
- Takes ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing tasks
- Communicates clearly and pragmatically
- Can prioritise when everything appears urgent
- Is excited by translating science into real-world impact
