CBRE Group Real Estate

Finance Manager

London, United Kingdom In person Full-time

About the Role: The Finance Manager owns the IFM finance remit of the client contract for CBRE GWS across the countries defined by the account. The contract is cost-plus and carries a target savings commitment that must be tracked, evidenced and delivered. This is a step up from producing the numbers to owning them. The role holder is accountable for the accuracy, integrity and commercial outcome of the account’s financials, acts as a trusted business partner to Operations and the client, and is expected to question established ways of working wherever a better, faster or more valuable approach exists.

The successful candidate will directly support the Senior Finance Manager, progressively take on their remit, and is expected to operate to an exceptionally high standard – with meticulous attention to detail and a consistent willingness to go above and beyond. What You'll Do: Own end-to-end financial delivery for the account, taking personal accountability for the accuracy, timeliness and quality of financial deliverables.

Lead and sign off the monthly reconciliation of Purchase Orders and vendor invoices to enable invoicing to client for Core FM, Small Works, Assignments, Out of Scope works, Optional Services Agreements and Capital Projects – resolving root causes, not just variances. Own monthly subcontractor and labour invoicing (from payroll data), ensuring complete, accurate and timely billing with no revenue leakage. Lead month-end close for CBRE, including review and approval of journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations, with robust supporting evidence.

Lead the budget and forecast cycles for the account, owning the assumptions, challenging inputs from Operations, and explaining movements in Net Revenue, COP and margin with clarity. Own the monthly client report and the CBRE client monthly review pack, presenting results and insight directly to senior stakeholders. Own the tracking, validation and reporting of the target savings commitment, ensuring savings are evidenced, defensible and recognised correctly.

Act as a trusted finance business partner to country Operations leads and the client finance team, translating numbers into clear commercial decisions. Proactively identify and drive savings initiatives and commercial opportunities, building the business case and tracking delivery through to the P&L. Support contract governance, scope changes and commercial negotiations, ensuring the financial impact to CBRE is understood and protected.

Challenge: Constructively challenge existing processes, assumptions and “the way it has always been done” where they do not add value – and bring forward credible alternatives. Innovate: Think outside the box to simplify, automate and standardise finance processes (e.g. Excel, Power BI, TM1, Oracle), reducing manual effort and risk of error. The use of AI to achieve this is highly sought after and encouraged. Progressively assume elements of the Senior Finance Manager remit as part of a structured succession plan.

Review the work of analysts and support colleagues, providing coaching, guidance and quality assurance. Ensure compliance with CBRE financial policies, internal controls, codes, regulations and standards, and maintain audit-ready documentation. What You'll Need: Professional financial qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) – qualified or in the final stages of qualification. Excellent business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge at senior level.

Exceptional Excel skills; proficient in Word and PowerPoint; experience with Oracle, TM1, PeopleSoft, iScala and Power BI highly desirable. Strong commercial acumen, including cost-plus contract, Net Revenue, COP and margin analysis. Clear understanding of customer needs and the ability to present financial insight to clients. Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail, with rigorous review of own and others’ work. Proven experience in a Senior Finance Analyst, Finance Business Partner or Finance Manager role, ideally in facilities management, outsourcing or a client-account environment.

Track record of owning month-end, forecasting and client reporting end to end. Demonstrable examples of challenging established processes and delivering measurable improvements. Ownership & accountability: Takes full responsibility for outcomes; owns projects from beginning to end and does not wait to be asked. Challenger mindset: Thinks outside the box, questions the status quo and brings forward better ways of working.

High standards & attention to detail: Holds themselves to an exceptionally high standard; nothing leaves their desk unchecked. Leadership potential: Ambition and capability to step up into the Senior Finance Manager role.
