Cerrion Technology/Software

Technical Support Engineer

Zürich, Switzerland In person Full-time

About Cerrion

About Cerrion At Cerrion, we're building the future of AI-enabled manufacturing. Headquartered in Zurich with more than $25M in funding from Creandum, Y Combinator, and top Silicon Valley investors, we're building the industrial AI platform to deploy AI Agents that can see what's happening on the production floor, automatically spot problems, and instantly intervene to keep lines running smoothly, at scale. Our technology is live in factories across 18+ countries, helping leading manufacturers in glass, beverage, food, CPG, building materials, and wood cut downtime by up to 50%.

We are hiring a Technical Support Engineer.

About the Role

This is the first support position at Cerrion, so you’ll set up how we support our customers from the ground up. When something goes wrong technically, you’re the person customers talk to — and the engineer who digs in until the issue is fixed at its core.

This isn’t a role where you log tickets and pass them on. It’s customer-facing and high-ownership: you’ll pair deep networking knowledge with an engineer’s instinct to automate anything that repeats, and you’ll learn our product inside out. The job runs on regular Swiss working hours, and travel to customer sites is not required, although it is possible.

Your responsibilities

  • First Point of Contact: Handle our customers’ technical issues as their first point of contact, working closely with our Customer Success team.
  • Troubleshooting: Dig into issues and see them through until they’re resolved. Many come from the infrastructure around our remote hardware, especially networking, so you’ll fix them at the root rather than patch symptoms.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor all our systems, on-premises at customer sites and in the cloud, to keep them running smoothly.
  • Automation: Build automation that makes support faster and more proactive, and keep improving our processes and infrastructure.
  • Support Metrics: Define and own Cerrion’s support metrics.
  • Desired Skills and Experience
  • Networking and Security: Deep understanding of computer networks and security. This is the core technical qualification: we run a lot of remote hardware, and many issues come down to the network.
  • Linux, Docker, and Python: Solid Linux and Docker knowledge, and enough Python to write and understand scripts and internal tooling.
  • Customer Communication: Customer-facing experience and the ability to explain technical topics clearly to IT teams and plant staff. Fluent English, spoken and written; German and other languages are a big plus.
  • Based in Zurich: Willingness and ability to work in Zurich. Home office is possible, but office presence is expected.
  • Builder Mindset: You tackle problems as they arise, bring a broad technical horizon, and keep learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Monitoring and Cloud: Experience with Prometheus and Grafana, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Industrial Environments: Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, and familiarity with industrial networks and protocols such as OPC-UA.
  • Support Automation: Experience building support automation or internal tooling.
  • Computer Vision: Experience with computer vision or ML-based products.
