Immigration Analyst

Hyderabad, India +1 In person Full-time

Role Overview

The Immigration Analyst supports Newland Chase’s US immigration practice by preparing high-quality, accurate case files for paralegal review. Working directly with a US-based paralegal, the Analyst manages client intakes, questionnaires, petitions, and government forms from start to finish, keeping cases moving and ensuring every file is complete and review-ready.

This is an in-office role based in Hyderabad or Bangalore and offers a unique opportunity to grow with the business as Newland Chase establishes its US legal entity and builds out its immigration support function in India. Early members of the team will help shape the processes, standards, and ways of working that the function grows on.

The position is hands-on and ownership-driven, ideal for someone who proactively manages the case process, communicates clearly and consistently with US colleagues, and is committed to delivering a seamless client experience.

Responsibilities

Case Preparation & Documentation

  • Complete client intakes and issue, track, and review immigration questionnaires for foreign nationals and client contacts
  • Gather, review, and organize supporting documents, identifying gaps or inconsistencies early
  • Draft petitions, support letters, and related case materials in line with firm templates and standards
  • Prepare and complete US immigration forms accurately and completely
  • Assemble complete, review-ready case packages for paralegal review and incorporate feedback promptly

Process Ownership & Case Management

  • Proactively manage assigned cases from intake through paralegal review, anticipating next steps rather than waiting for direction
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records, notes, and documents in the case management system (INSZoom preferred)
  • Track deadlines and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs), flagging risks and escalating issues to the supervising paralegal early
  • Compile and summarize case data for reporting to clients, managers, and the team

Communication & Client Experience

  • Communicate regularly and clearly with the US paralegal and attorney team, providing status updates, raising questions, and closing open items
  • Work across time zones to ensure seamless handoffs and no delays in case progress
  • With guidance from your supervisor, respond promptly and professionally to foreign national and client contact inquiries regarding case status and document needs
  • Contribute to a consistent, high-quality client experience across the US and India teams

Compliance & Quality

  • Follow documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance
  • Adhere to data privacy and information security protocols when handling sensitive personal information
  • Use case management systems accurately and in line with team and client protocols
  • Self-review work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission for review

Team Growth & Continuous Improvement

  • Help build and document processes, checklists, and best practices as the India support function is established
  • Share knowledge and support onboarding of new team members as the team grows
  • Understand and contribute to team and individual productivity goals
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and the client experience

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (law, paralegal studies, or related field preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in US immigration case preparation, including intakes, questionnaires, petitions, and forms
  • Experience preparing case files for paralegal or attorney review
  • Hands-on experience with immigration case management systems; INSZoom strongly preferred
  • Experience working with US-based teams across time zones
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Core Competencies

  • Attention to Detail: Produces accurate, complete, and well-organized work with minimal rework
  • Proactive Ownership: Manages the process end to end, anticipates needs, and follows through without prompting
  • Clear Communicator: Excellent written and verbal English; able to proofread, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical errors without the aid of AI tools
  • Client-Focused: Committed to delivering a seamless, responsive client experience
  • Organized: Prioritizes effectively and meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
  • Collaborative: Builds strong working relationships with the US team and contributes to a positive, growing team culture

Success Measures (First 12 Months)

  • Case files consistently submitted complete, accurate, and review-ready
  • Assigned deadlines and SLAs met, with issues escalated early
  • Strong, reliable working relationship and communication cadence with the US paralegal team
  • Accurate, current case records maintained in the case management system
  • Active contribution to building processes and standards for the India support function
