Java Developer

Location: Pune Maharashtra India

The Java Full Stack Developer is an intermediate-level technology professional responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting scalable enterprise applications in coordination with the Technology team. The role requires hands-on full-stack development experience and the ability to contribute across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment and actively participate in planning, refinement, estimation and delivery activities.
• Analyze business and technical requirements, seek clarifications and contribute to well-defined acceptance criteria and technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality full-stack applications using modern engineering practices.
• Develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot, along with modern web-based user interfaces using Angular/React.
• Design and implement enterprise integrations using REST APIs, Kafka and other messaging technologies.
• Develop secure, reliable and performant solutions while meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code with appropriate unit, integration and automated testing.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and reusable development patterns.
• Leverage DevOps practices including automated builds, CI/CD, automated testing, vulnerability scanning and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot application and production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Identify and address technical debt, application vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.
• Automate repetitive operational and SDLC activities to improve engineering efficiency and reduce operational risk.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, business analysts, QA, support teams and other technology stakeholders.
• Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of user stories across front-end, backend, database, integration, testing and deployment components.
• Appropriately assess technology and operational risks and escalate control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on full-stack application development.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Strong experience developing modern web applications using Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Strong experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle, including SQL and database design concepts.
• Experience designing and integrating distributed applications using REST APIs and messaging technologies.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software design patterns and engineering best practices.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with Agile development and CI/CD/DevOps practices.
• Good understanding of application security including authentication, authorization, secure coding and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global technology team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
