About the Role
We’re looking for a highly proactive, self-driven General Ledger Accountant to own the day to day accounting across multiple entities in a high transaction volume environment. This is a hands-on role at the center of our finance operations: bank reconciliations, AP/AR, cost allocations, intercompany, and month end close all run primarily in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
This is not a role for someone who waits to be told what to do. We need someone with an active, ownership-driven personality who spots what needs to happen and makes it happen who chases down discrepancies, follows up with stakeholders without being prompted, and takes full responsibility for keeping the books accurate and on time across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor multiple bank accounts, capture movements in QBO, and perform daily bank reconciliations across entities.
- Own AP end-to-end: capture, route invoices for approval, archive and post in QBO, and manage vendor/contractor payment runs.
- Own AR end-to-end: issue and track invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Oversee the billing process, ensuring invoicing is completed accurately and on time (e.g., by the 1st business day).
- Capture and reconcile deposits across QBO and related platforms; tie and allocate incoming payments to the correct business unit.
- Process intercompany transactions and recharges between business units, HQ/Corp and Holdco, ensuring both sides reconcile.
- Manage cost allocations, internal BU recharges, amortization, accrued liabilities, and ensure all transactions are allocated to a BU.
- Review credit card expenses (200+ transactions/month), cross-check Credit Cards statements against the QBO GL, and ensure accuracy.
- Produce daily and month-end reporting; support month-end close end-to-end.
- Proactively identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies — bringing the root cause and a proposed fix, not just the problem.
- Follow up directly with internal stakeholders (tax, billing, managers, other entities) to keep processes moving.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- A genuinely proactive, self-starting personality someone who takes initiative, works independently, and drives tasks to completion without needing to be pushed.
- Ownership mindset: treats the accuracy and timeliness of the books as their personal responsibility.
- Resourceful and resolutive: comfortable with ambiguity, chases down answers, and solves problems rather than escalating them unresolved.
- 3+ years of hands-on general ledger / full-cycle accounting experience, ideally in a high-volume, multi-entity environment.
- Strong, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required.
- Experience with intercompany transactions, cost allocations, and bank reconciliations.
- Comfortable working across multiple bank accounts and foreign-currency payments.
- Strong attention to detail and the discipline to perform high-volume, recurring work accurately every day.
- Comfortable with reporting and tech-savvy including using AI and automation tools to streamline workflows.
- Excellent English (written and spoken), for working with internal stakeholders.
