Workday HCM Integration Consultant

About the Role

As a Workday Integration Consultant, you will build and configure integrations between Workday and external systems, working from approved designs and specifications. You will develop mappings, run unit and system tests, support end-to-end and user acceptance testing, and investigate and resolve integration defects. You will document your work clearly and keep your lead and project team informed of progress, blockers, and risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and configure Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services (SOAP and REST).
• Develop and maintain integrations for payroll, benefits, time and attendance, and finance feeds.
• Contribute to requirements gathering and integration design under the guidance of the Integrations Lead.
• Perform unit and system testing, and support end-to-end testing, user acceptance testing, and defect resolution.
• Investigate production integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes within agreed service levels.
• Support cutover activities, go-live readiness, and hypercare.
• Provide regular updates on task progress, risks, and dependencies to the project team.

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience building and supporting Workday integrations.
• Working knowledge of Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services.
• Experience with XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST, and JSON.
• Experience integrating Workday with payroll or other enterprise systems.
• Understanding of HCM data structures, including worker, organisation, compensation, and time-off data.
• Experience with at least one integration middleware or file-transfer tool (for example, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or SFTP-based transfers).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workday Integration Certification (or equivalent Workday certification).
• Exposure to consulting engagements with client-facing responsibilities.
• Familiarity with Workday Report-as-a-Service (RaaS) and Workday Extend.
