YOUR ROLE

Our Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) operation moves vehicles between locations and delivers them directly to customers. We’re looking for a Driver Trainer to ensure our national workforce of over 250 drivers has the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver a safe, professional service throughout each journey and vehicle handover.

The role combines driver training and driving best practice with customer service and vehicle product knowledge. From safe vehicle handling to explaining a vehicle’s features and specifications at handover, you’ll help drivers represent CEVA and our automotive customers to a consistently high standard.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

As our Driver Trainer, you’ll lead the national driver training strategy and support the development of our National Driver Academy. This includes designing and delivering inductions, practical training, refresher sessions and toolbox talks, with clear development pathways for drivers, mentors and specialist roles.

Working closely with Driver Managers and the Head of Operations, you’ll identify individual and wider training needs, providing coaching that improves driving standards, safety, confidence and customer service. A combination of practical sessions, digital resources and remote learning will support drivers working across the UK.

Through collaboration with Account Management and automotive manufacturer (OEM) partners, you’ll keep training up to date with new vehicles, technologies and customer requirements. Attending manufacturer “Train the Trainer” sessions and creating clear supporting guides will help drivers understand vehicle specifications, demonstrate key features and answer customer questions during handovers.

A key focus will be preparing drivers to deliver a professional, informative customer experience. This includes setting handover standards and developing specialist training for VIP, press, media, executive and luxury vehicle deliveries. Customer feedback, complaints and compliments will inform ongoing improvements.

Alongside this, you’ll promote driving best practice, road safety, vehicle inspections and accurate incident reporting. Reviewing accidents, vehicle damage and service issues with Operations and HSEQ will help identify where targeted training can improve performance and reduce repeat incidents.

Responsibility for the national driver competency matrix, training records and certifications also sits within this role. Keeping these accurate and audit-ready, supported by clear reporting, will give stakeholders visibility of driver capability, mandatory training completion and development priorities.

Working across CEVA sites, you’ll lead a network of Driver Mentors and Training Champions and support new customer launches, mobilisations and operational changes.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for someone with experience delivering driver training, coaching or practical workforce development within vehicle logistics, automotive or a similar transport operation.

A strong understanding of safe driving practices, vehicle inspections and driver standards is essential, alongside the ability to coach people with different levels of experience. You’ll be confident delivering practical and classroom-based training and creating clear, accessible learning materials.

Customer service is equally important. You’ll understand how a professional delivery and a well-explained vehicle handover shape the customer experience, and be comfortable learning about vehicle specifications, features and technologies to pass that knowledge on to drivers.

Strong communication and organisational skills will help you build relationships with drivers, operational managers and automotive partners. Experience maintaining training records, assessing competence and using feedback and performance data to improve training will also be valuable.

Experience working with automotive manufacturers, supporting premium vehicle handovers or developing driver mentors would be beneficial.

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance along with access to an employee benefits platform that offers discounts on gym memberships and money off vouchers for a diverse range of retail, travel and hospitality brands. There’s no doubt that you will be compensated for your hard work and commitment so if you’d like to work for one of the top Logistics providers in the world then please do get in touch to find your next role.
