Job Summary
Comcast is building a digital infrastructure business that leverages its network sites, access to power, connectivity, customer relationships and financial resources to participate in the rapidly evolving AI infrastructure and compute market. The initial focus is deploying AI compute capacity at existing Comcast facilities, with opportunities to scale into managed inference and broader enterprise services across Comcast and new-build locations.
The Director, Digital Infrastructure Strategy will help shape the strategic vision, investment priorities and growth roadmap for Digital Infrastructure Services. This leader will combine deep industry insight, rigorous financial analysis and commercial judgment to evaluate opportunities, build actionable business cases and guide initiatives from market hypothesis through pilot and scaled deployment. The role partners closely with Product, Commercial, Engineering, Operations, Security, Finance and Comcast leadership. It reports to VP of Digital Infrastructure Services.
Responsibilities
Develop and continuously refine the multi-year strategy and prioritized roadmap for AI compute, data center infrastructure, managed inference and adjacent digital infrastructure services.
Analyze market size, demand drivers, customer segments, competitive positioning and technology trends across GPU-as-a-Service, AI cloud, inference, colocation, edge compute and connectivity.
Assess infrastructure and site economics, including power availability, capacity, deployment timelines, capital expenditure, operating costs, utilization, pricing, revenue, cash flows, investment returns and key risks.
Identify, evaluate and prioritize organic growth opportunities; develop investment theses, scenario analyses, business cases and recommendations for pilots, launches and scaling decisions.
Evaluate potential strategic partnerships, alliances, joint ventures and acquisitions involving compute providers, technology vendors, infrastructure operators, investors and enterprise customers; support commercial and financial diligence.
Partner with Product and Commercial teams to define target customers, value propositions, business models, pricing approaches, routes to market and strategic partner go-to-market plans.
Translate technical and operational considerations—power, cooling, rack density, network architecture, hardware lifecycle, reliability and security—into commercial implications and investment choices.
Work cross-functionally to establish milestones, decision gates, metrics and accountability for strategic initiatives; track performance and recommend adjustments as market conditions evolve.
Prepare concise executive-level analyses, presentations and recommendations that clarify strategic choices, trade-offs, risks and resource requirements.
Build external industry relationships and maintain an informed perspective on emerging companies, technologies, capital providers and partnership opportunities.
