The GNSS Software Developer will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of challenging Space programmes and projects, supporting the definition, development, integration and validation of complex systems, services and products. The GNSS Software Developer will be responsible for the design, development, integration and validation of software solutions supporting GNSS-based Orbit Determination and Time Synchronization for space and ground segment applications.
The role covers the implementation and optimisation of GNSS processing algorithms, state estimation and timing functions, from the analysis of requirements and algorithm design through software development, testing and operational validation. The position requires close interaction with system engineers, GNSS and navigation specialists, and software teams to deliver robust, accurate and maintainable solutions for satellite navigation and positioning applications.
Main tasks and responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain GNSS data analysis software tools and automated processing chains for Orbit Determination, Precise Orbit Determination and Time Synchronization applications within space and ground segment systems Analyze GNSS data to investigate anomalies and derive performance parameters Contribute to the development of software for real-time and offline GNSS data processing, including observation modelling, data quality control, filtering, estimation and solution generation.
Perform software verification and validation, including unit, integration and system-level testing of algorithms and software functions. Analyze performance, accuracy and robustness of GNSS solutions using representative and operational datasets, identifying anomalies and implementing corrective actions. Support the definition of software and algorithm requirements, technical specifications, interfaces and verification criteria.
Contribute to software architecture and design activities, promoting modular, scalable, maintainable and testable implementations. Support the development and automation of simulation, testing and validation environments for GNSS and timing functions. Collaborate closely with systems engineers, GNSS/navigation experts, software engineers and operations teams throughout the full software development lifecycle. Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, problem resolution and continuous improvement of GNSS software products.
University degree in electrical, electronic, telecommunications, aerospace or industrial engineering, or a related discipline Knowledge of satellite navigation principles, algorithms (including PPP), standard data formats and related protocols Over 3-year experience in GNSS SW development in C++/python/Matlab. Experience with Orbit Determination tools (e.g. Bernese) Experience with Linux, software configuration control, continuous integration and testing, and container technologies (e.g.
Docker, Kubernetes) Versatility: capable of blending technical and marketing skills. User- and communication-oriented. Valuable assets would also be: knowledge on the Galileo system and applications (including devices) and technical background on space operations. Fluent in English. Capable of developing value-added contributions in an international context. Initiative, team spirit, availability to travel.
