Join suena energy as our first Procurement & Contract Manager (f/m/x) and shape how we negotiate, buy and set up partnerships as we scale. suena energy is a green tech startup specializing in algorithmic energy trading for energy storage systems and renewables.

Our vision: a world where clean energy is used reliably, economically, and intelligently - and where we actively accelerate the energy transition by enabling batteries and renewables to power our grids. With our AI-based optimization and trading software, we maximize the value and market participation of large-scale energy storage and renewable assets in short-term electricity and balancing markets - while minimizing risk for operators.

Our most important partner contracts were set up in an earlier stage of suena. As our portfolio grows, so does what’s at stake, and there’s real room to improve. So far, no one has owned this full-time. That’s where you come in. We’re a 60+ person team that’s fast-paced by nature, but the kind of place where people actually look out for each other. Following our successful Series A, we’re investing in expanding our team – and bringing dedicated procurement and contract expertise into our Company Backbone as we scale.

Own our partner and supplier contracts – starting with the key service providers that enable our trading. Know the market better than anyone – benchmark terms, scout alternative providers and build real leverage. Lead renegotiations yourself – you align walk-away limits with our CFO upfront, then you’re at the table. Be the go-to for contract questions from Sales – assess deviations from our standard terms, propose wording and decide when counsel needs to step in.

Build the contract toolkit – an NDA process, a clause library Sales can use on their own and smart use of AI tools. Keep the contract portfolio in shape – regulatory changes, standard contracts per product and new markets like Poland and Spain. You’ve negotiated B2B service or framework agreements yourself – ideally from a procurement or commercial role on the buying side. You prepare a negotiation like a project – benchmarks, alternatives, a clear walk-away point.

Firm on terms, without burning bridges. You read contracts with a commercial eye – you know what liability caps or SLAs mean for the business, and when to call a lawyer. No law degree needed. You know your way around the energy sector – EEG or balancing markets need no explaining. Trading know-how is a plus. You’d rather build than inherit – you’ve set up processes where there were none, and shaping a function yourself excites you.

Fluent German and English (C1 or native) – our partners and contracts run in both languages.
