The D. E. Shaw group seeks talented individuals who are currently pursuing an MBA to join the firm's Fundamental Equities, D. E. Shaw Ventures, or Credit Opportunities groups as interns. The firm manages more than $100 billion in investment and committed capital; today, more than half of deployed hedge fund capital is in discretionary strategies. This role offers the chance to collaborate with an accomplished and innovative team in the investment management sector.
This is a ten-week program that will take place in New York and is expected to run from June to August 2027. Applications are open until 11:59 PM ET on December 2, 2026. What you’ll do day-to-day Partner with an investment team whose cross-sector research platform draws on collaboration to develop differentiated, thematic views. Research, analyze, and conduct due diligence on specific companies and industry sectors to inform fundamental investments.
Leverage the firm's proprietary data and technology tools to build and pressure-test investment hypotheses. Conduct primary research including management meetings, expert calls, and novel data analyses. What we’re looking for Current enrollment in a full-time MBA or similar graduate program, with a proven record of academic and professional achievement. At least two years of professional investment experience is preferred.
A passion for investing, a demonstrated aptitude for financial analysis, and an instinct for independent thinking. Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to rigorously analyze new investment ideas while also contributing original ones. Comfort with data and an interest in applying AI-enabled tools to fundamental research.` The position offers a monthly base salary of $25,000, overtime pay, a competitive sign-on bonus, travel coverage to and from the internship, and a choice of furnished summer housing or a $10,000 housing allowance.
