Advisory Systems Engineer, AI Software & Use Cases Specialist
Our field sales professionals rely on proactive technical support during the sales process – and our expert Systems Engineering team always steps up to the mark. We lead the development and implementation of complex and specialized products, applications, services and solutions. From delivering sales presentations and product demonstrations, to developing detailed installations or system integration plans, we ensure customers get the innovative, relevant, interoperable solutions they need.
What you’ll achieve
As an Advisory Systems Engineer – AI Software & Use Cases Specialist you will join the Global Field Technology Office (GFTO), the elite technical SME presales team that sits at the intersection of field sales, product and research engineering, and customer innovation.
This is a global, high-impact individual contributor role with a technical leadership mandate. You will serve as the worldwide subject matter expert for Dell’s AI Software portfolio and AI use cases, operating with the depth of a practicing AI technical leader and seasoned field architect. Your expertise spans the full surface of modern AI — agentic and systems AI, generative and diffusion models, deep learning architectures, classical and modern ML, reinforcement learning, computer vision, and the emerging techniques that will define the next several years.
You partner across Dell with the AI Software Product Group and AI Engineering teams, externally with customers on AI factory design and enterprise use-case engineering, and internally with the AI Infrastructure SME and the broader GFTO Data Platforms pillar — acting as the technical bridge between AI product strategy and field execution.
This role is for a builder, a technical storyteller, and a trusted architect of ideas — someone who pairs first-principles technical rigor with high interpersonal insight, thrives in complex problem-solving and customer-facing environments, and is energized by enabling others to win. You navigate ambiguity, align diverse stakeholders across boundaries, and move things forward through influence and credibility. Critically, you understand that AI buying has shifted upstream: CXOs are now selecting architectures of intelligence rather than SKUs
Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as an Advisory Systems Engineer on our Systems Engineering team.

Field Enablement & Content Development (45%)
Design, develop, and lead world-class technical enablement programs — AI use-case training series, CSC Collab sessions, and role-based learning paths — that give field SE and sales teams across all three theatres the knowledge and confidence to position Dell’s AI Software portfolio
Build and maintain ready-to-use enablement assets: technical briefs, competitive battlecards, and reference architectures spanning agentic and multi-agent orchestration, RAG and retrieval pipelines, fine-tuning and model customization, vector databases, and end-to-end LLM deployment and AI factory positioning frameworks
Drive structured enablement programs in partnership with presales leadership, L&D organizations, and the Regional Tech Offices
Serve as the go-to expert for the broader SE community on AI software selection, model and LLM architecture, fine-tuning versus RAG trade-offs, use-case framing, agentic pattern design, model evaluation and benchmarking, inference optimization, and model-to-workload fit
Champion the development of CSC labs, Collab-style code interfaces, and hands-on technical content that makes AI tangible and actionable for presales teams
Customer Engagements (25%)
Lead and support strategic, complex customer engagements globally, including executive briefings and strategy and architecture workshops
Advise customers on AI operating model design: workload-to-problem mapping, model and LLM selection and sizing, fine-tuning versus retrieval-augmented approaches, inference optimization and serving strategy, GPU and accelerator sizing, data and MLOps pipeline design, use-case prioritization, and end-to-end AI factory architecture
Support flagship account engagements where technical depth and executive credibility are required, including joint workshops with hyperscalers, ISVs, and strategic partners
Conduct co-research and co-publishing engagements with innovation-forward customers, positioning Dell as an architecture partner rather than just a vendor

- Cultivate academic and university partnerships to advance co-research and talent engagement
- Contribute to Dell’s internal thought leadership through the Podcast, global webinars, and cross-domain architecture sessions
- Engage the developer and open-source community (e.g., Hugging Face, open-source AI frameworks) to maintain technical credibility and mindshare
