We accomplish this by supporting all school sectors with high-quality syllabuses, assessment (including managing the HSC and NAPLAN), teaching standards (e.g., accrediting teachers) and school environments (including setting and monitoring school standards).

NESA is a unique organisation in NSW (of around 740FTE staff) with significant state-wide impact, visit our website to learn more about the important work we do.

About the role

As a Project Officer, you will be required to coordinate and undertake project and program activities, providing analysis and advice on implementation, to support the delivery of a music assessment program. You’ll be responsible for working with a diverse casual workforce and a range of stakeholders to ensure examinations are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with organisational objectives.

Through your support, you will play a hands-on role in the continuous improvement of day-to-day operations and support projects that help drive priorities forward and deliver high-quality outcomes.

This role is well suited to someone who is organised, detail-oriented and enjoys working with people.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for

Providing a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, and implementing and monitoring project plans.

Preparing and maintaining project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.

Communicating with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate the exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans.

Sourcing, collating, and compiling data and information to identify emerging issues and tracking and reporting on project progress.

Monitoring and addressing complex and/or sensitive enquiries and issues, including those that are escalated, to ensure the timely and effective resolutions of issues.

Developing, implementing, reviewing, and updating administrative systems, processes, and policies to ensure compliance with agency standards, policies, and procedures.

Coordinating the availability, rostering and allocation of a casual workforce to support service delivery requirements, including recruitment, workforce planning, resource coordination, risk mitigation and operational oversight.

Our ideal candidate will have

Extensive experience in delivering a range of project management and support services, including managing tight deadlines, limited resources and competing priorities.

A highly developed skillset to successfully manage the administrative service needs of unit staff consistently, given the high volume of work and number of staff seeking services from the team, and the need to address ad hoc requests and unforeseen issues.

To be successful, you will need

  • A strong ability in managing complex stakeholder relationships and resolving sensitive customer issues in a high-volume service environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating availability and rostering of a casual workforce to meet service delivery requirements.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number (for paid employment) prior to commencement (although not required at the application stage).
  • We invite you to download therole description for additional information on the position.

Note

A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment is required before commencing in this role. It is not required at the application stage. The cost of the WWCC clearance is the responsibility of the successful applicant.
