About the Team
The CPG Ad Sales Team is responsible for the marketing vision, development and growth of our CPG partnerships. This team is seeking additional founding team members to build an industry-leading ads and promotions business across DoorDash’s core categories. The growing DoorDash ads business is quickly becoming the single best place for merchants and brands to market to local customers, in an ecosystem that benefits all parties.
About the Role
This SDR sits at the tip of the spear as DoorDash continues to grow its CPG Ads org. You’ll be the primary engine for our brand partnership growth, identifying and penetrating brands not yet on our platform and securing high-value meetings for our Mid Market Account Executive team. You’ll blend automated outreach, personalized high-touch prospecting, and face-to-face networking to build a pipeline for a business that is scaling quickly.
Success is measured on attainment to ads and promotions revenue goals, with both a quantitative revenue target and qualitative OKRs. This role is designed for someone who wants to learn the business from the ground up and eventually transition into an Account Executive role. You will report into a Manager on our CPG Mid Market Sales team within our Enterprise Sales & Business Development organization.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
Multi-channel prospecting: Build and manage a robust funnel of potential brand partners through a “balanced attack” of automated sequences and bespoke, personalized outreach, including cold calls.
Build pipeline: Source leads and build target account lists to find the highest-yielding revenue opportunities.
Own inbound: Manage inbound leads from a variety of sources, responding quickly and qualifying them.
Hit the trade show floor: Represent DoorDash at industry trade shows (8-10 events a year, roughly 25 days of travel), converting booth traffic into meetings by identifying key stakeholders and securing in-person or follow-up appointments.
Partner with AEs: Work hand-in-hand with Mid Market AEs to map out “must-win” accounts and execute coordinated strategies to break into them.
Shape our tooling: Co-develop the tech stack and messaging templates to scale outreach without losing the personal touch, using tools like Outreach, Demandbase, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo.
Influence the roadmap: Share what you hear from the market with our Product teams so it directly shapes the future of DoorDash Ads.
Grow with us: Be part of the growing CPG DoorDash Ads & Promos team, with a clear path to evolve into an Account Executive.
We’re excited about you because…
- You’re a hunter. Ideally 1-3 years in Ads Sales or SDR roles with a proven track record in high-volume outreach and pipeline generation, though we are open to a wide interpretation of relevant experience.
- You’re technically savvy. You pick up new tools quickly and can onboard fast. Our tooling can change, so we value experience with sales automation tools and CRM, but the ability to learn new ones matters most.
- You’re AI fluent. Using AI in your daily workflow is a requirement.
- You’re a persuasive storyteller. You have experience building client-facing pitch decks and can turn data into a compelling brand narrative.
- You’re a dynamic communicator. You have polished verbal and public speaking skills and are comfortable navigating trade show floors and making executive-level cold calls.
- You have entrepreneurial grit. You thrive in scrappy, ambiguous environments where building the process is as important as following it. We have great tools, but willpower, creativity, and effort decide how well you do.
- You’re ready to travel. You’re comfortable traveling for industry events (about 25 days a year).
- Nice to have: Experience with CPG advertisers (Mid Market / Emerging brands a plus).
