Assistant Accountant - Skymetrix

Luton, United Kingdom Hybrid Full-time

SkyMetrix Assistant Accountant

Luton | Full-time | Hybrid

20% bonus

  • 7% pension
  • Staff travel benefits

We support hybrid working, and you’ll spend 60% of your time each month in the office.

You’re the kind of finance professional who enjoys getting into the detail, asking the right questions and turning invoice data into clear, accurate insight.

You’ll combine careful accounting with practical problem-solving, helping colleagues understand costs, resolve variances and strengthen the controls behind Flight Operations reporting.

The opportunity

Join the Flight Operations Accounting & Controls team within Group Financial Control, where you’ll support the accounting, reporting and control environment for easyJet’s Flight Operations costs.

Your main focus will be checking, analysing and processing invoices through SkyMetrix, reporting what you find and giving stakeholders consistently accurate information to support decisions.

The team & culture

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Flight Operations Accounting & Controls, Procurement, operational finance and FP&A, as well as external suppliers. It’s a role built on dependable relationships, clear communication and shared ownership of accurate outcomes.

Our Finance and Procurement teams are detail-focused problem-solvers. You’ll be encouraged to stay curious, challenge inefficient processes and bring forward practical ideas that improve accuracy and control.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll check, analyse and process invoices, working with internal teams and suppliers to resolve queries and investigate differences between invoices and accruals.
  • You’ll support month-end accounting, prepare journals in line with accounting standards and help operational finance teams with accounting, audit and ad-hoc project activity.
  • You’ll use cost analysis and balance sheet reconciliations to highlight risks and opportunities, helping Finance Managers and FP&A teams understand what needs attention.

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll bring strong attention to detail, an enquiring mindset and the confidence to identify issues, explain what they mean and suggest practical changes.
  • You can communicate complicated financial matters clearly to both finance and non-finance contacts, while managing several tasks and projects to deadline.
  • You’ll have intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge. Experience with SkyMetrix or AirPas would be useful, but it isn’t essential.

What you’ll get

  • > Competitive base salary + up to 20% bonus
  • > 7% employer pension contribution
  • > Private medical insurance
  • > 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • > Annual credit towards an easyJet holiday
  • > Excellent staff travel benefits
  • > Flexible benefits package including share schemes
  • Diversity isn't a checkbox — it's how we fly
  • Different perspectives help us ask better questions, spot risks earlier and improve the quality of our decisions. Whatever your background, if you bring care, curiosity and a commitment to accurate work, we’d like to hear from you.
