About the Role
This is an outstanding opportunity to join eBay’s FP&A Center of Excellence (COE) and help shape the future of global Finance.
The FP&A COE is a global organization established to centralize, standardize, and scale core financial planning and analysis activities. As part of the Finance vertical, this role will be responsible for delivering high-quality FP&A outcomes, strengthening financial processes, and improving the tools and capabilities used to manage investments.
This is an execution-focused role. The successful candidate will directly own and deliver key FP&A activities. The role requires someone who can combine strong financial expertise, attention to detail, operational ownership, and the ability to drive process improvements from concept through implementation.
About the Team
The FP&A COE supports global FP&A teams and business units by providing centralized capabilities and specialist expertise across month-end close, forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, and business performance management.
The Finance COE partners closely with Global Finance and Business teams, Controllership, and other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver accurate OPEX accruals and forecasts, month-end close reporting, spend visibility, variance analysis, and actionable financial insights.
The team also plays an important role in simplifying and standardizing existing ways of working, transitioning activities into the COE, and building scalable tools and processes that improve efficiency, transparency, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute core FP&A activities, including close, accruals, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analysis.
- Act as a key point of contact for Finance stakeholders, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled deliverables.
- Review and validate OPEX accruals, forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis, providing clear insights on financial performance.
- Partner with Finance and business teams to understand investment plans, cost drivers, risks, opportunities, and changes in assumptions.
- Build scalable reports, dashboards, analytical tools, and insights to improve spend visibility and decision-making.
- Drive process standardization, simplification, automation, and continuous improvement across FP&A activities.
- Support the transition of Finance activities into the COE, ensuring clear ownership, controls, governance, documentation, and service expectations.
- Partner with Controllership and Finance teams to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
- Contribute to the development of the COE operating model, governance, performance metrics, and best practices.
- Manage multiple priorities and timelines effectively in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience; CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, MBA, or similar qualification preferred.
- 2–6 years of relevant experience in FP&A, financial analysis, accounting, or business finance.
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex FP&A deliverables with accuracy, accountability, and strong attention to controls.
- Experience in leading process transitions, standardization, operating-model improvements, or automation initiatives.
- Experience in developing and implementing financial tools, dashboards, models, reports, or automated solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, spreadsheet, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, levels, and geographies in a matrixed and evolving environment.
- Experience with tools such as Anaplan, SAP, Tableau, Power BI, workflow platforms, AI, or similar technologies.
- Strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
